McGrath has played a role at Hawkesmill FC for the last few years and will continue to do so, splitting his time between them and the new academy.

However one place he will not be spending his time is the Sky Blues’ temporary new home of Sixfields – branding the move “a disgrace”.

McGrath added: “I really thought it wouldn’t come to this when they were talking of taking the club to Northampton.

“It really surprised me and I feel so sorry for the fans as they are being the most hard done by. The city of Coventry should have a club playing in the city.

“Who knows what the agreements really are and how long it will be until they are back - three years, five years, ten years?”

That article annoys me. Someone from 'Coventry United' came on here a few months ago and stated that it was not set up as a Pheonix club.

Shit name, shit red kit.

Haha, just don't like that all of a sudden they've totally changed what they're about.

It even says they were 'set up in protest at the Sky Blues move to Northampton'. We're they f*ck - anyone on this forum a few months ago know that they were set up well before anyone could have guessed we'd be at Northampton.

Also, are they trying to be Man Utd or what?

Think they'd be better off changing their name to something like 'City of Coventry' football club.

No self respecting city fan s going to support united....it just has undertones of the other red united team, one which, by definition, Coventry loyalists resent because of the number of glory hunting plastic mancs in Cov....rightly or wrongly.

I respect them but name choice is 100% wrong. Should have chosen from:

Coventry 1883
Skyblues FC
Coventry
Sky Blues of Coventry FC

Something like that

Totally agree with:

- Coventry 1883
- Coventry

Been suggesting them too when talking about a Phoenix club.

We should start one just to make SISU pack up. No business plan without the fans.
