Not sure about that - Brandon Stadium was refused PP for a Sunday market by Rugby Borough Council. Not sure that's a metropolitan borough.

Ultimately, as said elsewhere, with developments as contentious as football grounds it's likely to go through a number of stages taking years. Shrewsbury, quoted in the JS interview as seemingly an 'easy' build, started the planning process in 1999. Build finished in 2007/8 as I recall.

Negative, btw, overwhelmingly negative, Unless her sudden arrival indicates that SISU are feeling the heat, I can't see that the two sides aren't further apart than ever.

I was left a little cold by the interview. Lot's of stuff I expected, and lots I agreed with, but I was surprised at the language used in reference to the council. No sign of an olive branch, not even an olive. We are not going back to the Ricoh, that much is clear.

The only reason she agreed to this interview is hoping to change some minds to increase crowds at Sixfields ,it stinks of an act of desperation ,crowds are way lower than they thought,and despite the great football being played they are not increasing, she has finally realised that her and her pet lapdog Timmy have dug a hole they can't get out of ,this was no more than a spin excersise to try and get revenue ,they are hoping that after this interview ,fans will think there is no option and SISU are not the scum people think they are and the fans will start trickling back .

Overall negative, in spite of one or two positive points. It's clear there little or no prospect of a return to Ricoh, and this is a big negative for me. And as for her answer about the big reduction in FFP next season, because of small crowds at Sixfields, she must be joking! How on earth will that apply to all the other clubs? :facepalm:

My overall impression is that Ms JS is playing "politics" -- to say SISU will never come back to the Ricoh unless they own it is all part of SISU's "strategy" in my opinion. No business person would say "never" - the options to change directions all depends on circumstances at any given time. JS was not reassuring at all as many fans will take what she says at face value. Funding is still not guaranteed, there are no plans to build a new stadium at the moment which Otium would own outright (it would be rented to them by SISU), revenue streams would be limited compared to the Ricoh (remember the Compass contract runs out at the Ricoh in 2015)... not impressed at all JS !

Here's my first advice: Tell the whole sad story from the point sisu walked from Southamton to Coventry. Lay it out raw and don't explain too much, just tell it as it happened and the reasoning behind.

Here's my second advice: Tell us about the whole rent strike adventure. The reasoning behind it, how involved were CCc and ACL, what was agreed and with whom. Tell us what exactly caused the wheels to come off and how you reacted. Don't be afraid to admit mistakes and failures - that will make you human, which you are not in the eyes of many fans.

Here's my third advice: Tell us exactly what your terms are for going back to the Ricoh. Don't leave anything out, don't mask figures, don't sugarcoat 'your offer'.

Here's my fourth advice: Tell us the financing model of a new stadium. Don't put it simple for all to understand, we have our own experts to explain the mechanics. Tell us if the new stadium will be owned by a company inside or outside the SBS&L group and in any case how it will benefit the club. Surely you will by now have a rough breakdown of building, financing and operational budgets - let us have them raw, we have our own forensic accountants ready to dissect and explain.

Here's my fifth advice: If, for any reason, you feel some of the details needs to be kept hidden, then at least invite a few leading members of the Trust, let them sign a NDA and them give them the details. Have them draft a summarize that they can publish after you have made sure no sensible commercial details are exposed.

Here's my sixth advice: Get the fans involved in the club going forward. Use the Trust.

Out of interest, would a stadium built at the point marked on the map really signal the end of CCFC? Are we all that hung up by imaginary lines? An outsider not overly concerned with administrative boundaries in the greater Coventry region would just see it as a ground on the edge of Coventry. A bit like the Ricoh really.
