In tell you the woman does not know which way to turn. All this talk of a new stadium is absolute bollocks. There is no way back to the Ricoh and so the only exit is a sale of a franchise club. I know that you will all call me mad for suggesting this but it is now the only out for Shitzu.

Just a few of my thoughts in red from JS interview.. in particular over the
Quizzed over many anti-Sisu fans’ doubts about its ability to finance a new stadium or obtain planning permission in Warwickshire - particularly for the Brandon speedway/greyhound racing stadium site, one of four property agents are considering - she gave examples of Rotherham United’s £20million stadium, and £11million for Shrewsbury Town, completed relatively quickly.

Rotherham's old stadium was built in 1907, and Rotheham FC never owned it, a guy called Ken Booth did. The new stadium is right in the centre of Rotherham about 1/2 mile away from old ground & was backed by the council, though planning permission was not unanimous (11-4), the site includes large M&S and John Lewis stores. Rotherham only rfecently got promoted to the football league, it is a small club.accompanied by large Marks & Spencer and John Lewis stores. - See more at: http://www.stadiumguide.com/york-city-given-go-ahead-for-new-community-stadium/#sthash.1gqatKgd.dpuf

Shrewsbury's new ground (2007) has a capacity of less then 10,000, the old ground, build in 1910, was always getting flooded.. of course the council backed it!

If the SISU build a stadium the plan seems to be to build a modern 4th division stadium & run an academy to make profit. So forget going back to the premiership.. Championship is the best to hope for!

She said: “Most councils would love the idea of having a football club, given the economic impact it has. Look at what Northampton’s council leader said about Coventry City groundsharing - that they were delighted to have Coventry City fans contributing to the town’s economy.

Stolen from the economy of Coventry, such empathy for their citizens!

“The new stadium will be close to Coventry but not in the jurisdiction of Coventry City Council. We met the Football League in January and discussed where it should be and what it should be. So which local council wants the flak for agreeing planning for that? Not that any land has been purchased.

“Instinctively, it would not cross my mind to have it within Coventry City Council’s boundary given the history, histrionics and the issue of freehold ownership.

“I am not concerned about the funding of a stadium. I’m reasonable comfortable that won’t be an issue. Really!

Mrs Seppala said she anticipated the stadium would require 40pc equity (cash) with the rest borrowed, and added: “I have got people who are more than happy to fund that. I’m having discussions all the time with investors.” She said investors included wealthy families and financial institutions, including pension funds.

Who is going to lend 60% for the scheme?

Where is the cash coming from, if a supermarket can't be found to support the project I can't imagine it will happen! It won't be housing, who wants a house next to a football stadium?

I presume the wealthy families include the Huntsman family http://money.cnn.com/2010/06/16/news/companies/huntsman_family_dynasty_full.fortune/index.htm and the pension funds include the University of Pennsylvania http://huntsman.upenn.edu/main/Home.html (whoops another Huntsman connection & funnily enough where Joy did her MBA)

ACL claimed that in the Ownership meeting on the 25th July....

http://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/34951-ACL-Statement?p=509700&viewfull=1#post509700
Then the club/SISU had their response in a statement issued on 05/08/13 on the ccfc.co.uk website

http://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/article/club-statement-050813-971036.aspx

So that appeared to contradict what ACL had said in their statement and we were no closer to the truth of whether she did make those demands.

Then Les gets an interview where the elusive Mrs Seppala said

Which I read that if she doesn't negotiate and she wants the freehold or there's no return to the Ricoh (we're not renting again), it must have been at her price as she doesn't negotiate. CCC could have named a price but then if she had mentioned a price which she was thinking of, that would be a negotiation (or the start of one) wouldn't it. She does go on and contradict herself in that interview by saying

But then you neglected to include:

Sisu and its related firm Otium, which now runs the club, says a fair price for the Ricoh and the potential development land around it could be agreed by taking the average of each sides’ surveyors’ valuations, based on potential income.

Which suggests that they are willing for negotiation.

That said if ACL said its true, it must be true.

Yeah I did read that but I don't know whether that is a direct quote from her in the interview or a statement from the companies mentioned. I was only looking at what Les has directly quoted from what Joy said, which is obviously from someone we know 100% was in that meeting on the 25th with allegedly her lawyers. Doesn't matter though does it as we're building a new stadium "We've Moved On" (to quote Tim) and Joy has very publicly said this stadium will happen, it came from the top woman so no need to doubt it as some have when Tim says it.
Les Reid Interview said:
“If anyone doubts a stadium will be built, they haven’t had engagements with me over the course of the last two years.”
Les Reid Interview said:
“Plan A is building a new stadium. There is something very exciting about building something that is a new beginning. It feels like the club is at a new beginning.

“The business side is operationally in a good place. Tim Fisher’s done a good job. The football side is going well.

“What’s exciting is being involved in the beginning to the end of building something like that, from purchasing land to planning permission to the designs for the stadium. Building it is exciting, different and new.

“Things have moved on since the Ricoh. The ability to expand (as the club grows) is exciting. We can start smaller and then build around it, whether or not it’s a multi-purpose sports stadium.
So now that she's confirmed we are going to build our new stadium why would we need the Ricoh? Unless people are going to say she's lying about this? Obviously we need to be back in the city ASAP but if SISU are funding the costs of playing at Sixfields financially there's no pressure on the team.

One thing that did catch my eye as I just re-read the interview was this
Les Reid Interview said:
“When the former owners of the club sold the 50 per cent share to Higgs (Alan Edward Higgs Charity), I do not believe they thought they were giving away matchday revenues. They thought they had sold the equity stake in the stadium, not the revenues.”

Given that Sir Higgs was on the board of our Club and ACL you'd have thought he'd have known just what the charity were buying and what the club were selling wouldn't you? I'm not accusing him (RIP) of any wrongdoing I just find it odd that he wouldn't have been aware of all of this. I met him once and he seemed a pretty clued up bloke and passionate about our club.

It has been mentioned by others yet still gets ignored by the gullible

They tell lies

All the negotiations are just a front, we have seen how many times they have changed their demands now its the freehold ................there was me thinking it was all about pies and beer

Wasn't fletcher also involved from both sides?

Yo man... see http://www.skybluetrust.co.uk/index...full-version-of-qaa-to-acl-and-ccfc?showall=1

4: Who on both sides signed the original licence?

ACL: John McGuigan and Paul Fletcher

CCFC: (I don’t know this – well before my time: pls verify from someone else) Geoffrey Robinson and Mal Brannigan

So Paul Fletcher was a signatory to the original rent deal on behalf of ACL. Later he became Chief Executive of CCFC.

Dunno actually, was he still working for ACL whilst working for the club? I thought there might be some info on his LinkedIn page but it just says he's at Burnley and has a thumbs up from Ken Sharp. I'm currently doing a Google search but I have to go home and go to bed soon as I have to get up and go to work tomorrow. ;)

Paul Fletcher joined CCFC in Jan 2006 http://www.bbc.co.uk/coventry/content/articles/2007/10/05/fletcher_resigns_feature.shtml Think it was Jan 4, 2006.

He was still in charge of the Ricoh as of October 2005
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/coventry_warwickshire/4308202.stm

Can't find anything that actually states when he resigned from ACL though.

I don't think he worked for both at the same time, I think he moved from one to the other so also must know quite a lot about both sides.

Ah sorry thought you meant he had worked for both at the same time, like Sir Higgs was on the board of both.

all of which was accepted by sisu, after their due dilligence ?

Yes- funny that GH.. almost as if SISU missed it(really?) OR- they accepted it as a short term business cost whilst their Ricoh freehold acquisition plans matured. These plans as we now know failed and we are in this ludicrous situation with the Golden Share effectively being the hostage with the Ricoh freehold and a return to Coventry being the ransom demand. This interview confirms all that I had previously suspected and yet some still see SISU as victims- beggars belief.

This wasn't up to your normal standard of blaming everything on ACL
as only one side are releasing anything.

I don't blame everything on SISU. They get praise off me when deserved. The problem is that this isn't very often.

When was the last time you had a good word for ACL? You spend a lot of time having a go at them, and when you are proved to be wrong you just go quiet and look for another thread to have a go at them on.

Nothing personal. If you think it is show us where you have mentioned them and not had a go at them. You would think that they are mainly at fault for everything. But even when they try to help our club Joy moves the goalposts. And it doesn't help when trying to have a debate :D

When have they tried to help our club? Docking 20 points for a paltry £200,000?

On the contrary I would say it is working quite quickly! Joy has been more elusive than Lord Lucan since sisu darkened coventry. Low and behold a few home games in and all of a sudden there are sisu owners and directors coming out of the woodwork!

Anyone who has the long term health of the club, is in it for the long haul. Its end of september, season hardly begun, and already there are blatant signs sisu are panicing!

NOPM
yes that's true, but slowly , slowly catch a monkey. NOPM..........

Building us a stadium when we were properly homeless, not made homeless by someone who wants the ground on the cheap.

Yes mistakes were made, but when they do try to help it just ends up in costly litigation. This costs the council money and puts our club further into debt.
