Totally pointless thread. People claiming to be in the know and getting an ego boost out of telling everybody they know. Either tell people what you know thats of any use or keep your mouths shut and stop posting pointless threads such as this.

It created 4 pages of banter.. hardly pointless.

Agreed that its a little disappointing to have half truths and I would have preferred to have read nothing at all than be feeding off crumbs like this, but no need to to have a go at the guy. It's just speculation and guesses like many of the threads on here.

Apparently the winning lottery ticket for next Tuesday will be bought by Coventry fan.

Well I said earlier it was entertainingly diverting whilst I was at work. At home, it does just look like nothing. If there is truth to it, he can't prove it anyway but I'm still glad it was posted because there's no major damage done. But yeah, like people who have bought a season ticket are going to boycott the team? Right. And the weather isn't going to be hot on Tuesday, so it wasn't just a pun about the weather at any rate!

Tbf I don't remember the OP being a BS merchant before, but I can't be bothered to look up all his posts! I do remember a poster getting loadsa grief for saying King was off to Brum just after he'd "agreed" to stay, so I'm wary of just shouting peoples claims down.

It's not speculation it's fact you'll just have to take my word for it and see what unfolds. What I have done in several priv messages with Nick is elaborate on what I know. I think he accepts that there is good reason for me telling you only the gist at this stage. Just see what comes out this week before you judge, plus I haven't got a track record of rumour mongering. On balance I'm still glad that I've passed on elements of what I know because I think it's best that we all know what's going on and more specifically so fans have a better chance of influencing the direction of travel. I'm in danger of sounding daft but there is good reason why I'm not elaborating yet.

I think you're probably right Sheepy, wish I'd said nothing. What I know isn't that surprising. SISU aren't ting ball, they want a return on their investment whereas GH's investors want them to walk away and that's the sticking point. SISU still won't treat the bid as formal so I think the plan is for a lot of this to go public. It could be that fan power helps sway the balance as right now it's deadlock. I just meant it's going to be an interesting week with both sides publicly showing their positions. There's a few more specific things I've got wind of but does that help for now?

Roll on Tuesday then and lets see what position the club will be in by this time next week!

There will be legal reasons why Snozz can't say more then he is at present its a little bit different to saying we're going to sign a player and then not say who. Sounds like it could be an interesting week and might shapr the future of the club in more ways than one. Reading the other financial healines this morning about taking bridging loands against future earnings something needs to happen fast as a business can't continue to fund itself like this as it just reduces future income by paying back the interest!

I think the news today (Bank loan)maybe the start of things to come all seems to be turning nasty as someone has leaked the story to the telegraph!!!!!!!!!!!!.

this is better than any soap opera! I believe snozzer on this one though. I know a bloke who is a manager at cov council who hears stuff regarding the club so I'll speak to him tonight and find out if he knows what is on the horizon!

It does look like its starting to unfold with todays CET. This could be a messy end to preseason.

Yup think today is the first of what I was trying to allude to, there's no way SISU/the Board would have wanted this known.

Thanks Snozzer, it can't have been easy keeping quiet, and I massively appreciate the heads-up. As soon as I saw the CT headlines today I knew that this was the start of what you've alluded to. And indeed, the notion of SISU somehow, incredibly, expecting to make money out of the deal..well, no surprises there! Joe Elliott knows the behind-the-scenes situation better than any other City fan, and if he says he Hoff bid is one that deserves to be accepted, that's good enough for me. Quite frankly, they should accept a quid before they have an utterly valueless club on their hands. We are heading Luton and Plymouths way.

I'm making a SISU OUT banner for Saturday, and I suggest others join me in making it the first protest of many.

To all those who said we were being gloom & doom..I insisted at the time that such views were based on evidence, not personality. This is exactly what I feared. They lied about replacing King ,(and, probably, the "verbal agreement") they lied about keeping last years budget, they lied about openness, they lied about bloody everything until we'd bought our season tickets. I've not been angrier since the BR days.

SISU are playing roulette with the club, they don't care about the Coventry as a club they are just looking for a way to get some of their investment back. They'll either get some investment back or take the club down as they have nothing to lose! The short term bridging loans that have come to light today are desperate measures indeed and indicates that SISU aren't prepared to invest more of their capital into the club.

Wouldn't it be great to wake up one Monday and actually see a headline directly about football related to our club instead of this financial mess! Makes you wonder what contract offers were made to the three players!

I admire SISU for saving our club, but it is time for them to move on now.

When you say (Snoozer) the fans could help with the sway of power, would bombarding Brody with SISU OUT messages on Twitter help the cause?

With the threat of admin looming, as echoed by previous posters surely taking something rather than nothing would be the way forward for SISU??

What is rather strange is the arrangement of yet another loan even though SISU have an alternative to going further into debt ('selling' to the Hoff)?

I'm intrigued as to what will happen , if anything, over the next few days.... I'm expecting some generic waffle from SISU about how transparent they now are or about how they are in no rush to sell the club.

Getting loans in place so when they do walk away for nothing, the debt is still payable would be my guess, but of course writing some of the debt off may be part of the agreement in walking away.

Who knows yet, but I'm sure before they up-sticks, they will exercise their rights to the interest payable too.

If we have stadium rental and loan interest, not to mention balancing the payments and the squad with diminishing support, then I fail to see how any new investment can also get a return. It may be headed by City fans in Joe and Gary, but the investors will still not be ploughing their millions in for free and the numbers don't really stack up with so many debts and so little assets.

In the meantime we could try getting on with our lives

That's fine Macca, we know from your "witticisms" that you don't really get excited or passionate about Coventry City FC. Maybe try Arsenal?

So I guess all the "Sisu saved us" crowd will now be putting all their weight behind Hoffman with the same blind belief and lack of questioning that typified their support for Sisu?

Let's see " Cov fan" - Check - See Uncle Joe
" Successful businessman" Check see Ruthless Ray

Sisu reaping what they sow though, remember when all shares had to be given to them, and anybody who didn't want to give them away was some kind of traitor to the club?

Looks like if Sisu want to get out they'll have to lose their money too(If indeed they have spent much money)

I think SISU will be looking to recoup some of the money they have put into the club already totally agree with Rob and Summerisle and maybe a decent chunk of the apparent 20 million they 'pumped' in to the club in the first place. But its all speculation.

I'm imagining Hoffman will be lining up someone who isn't afraid of losing money or they wouldn't even consider it as there is no way CCFC will be making any profit for years!

So do I, but he always has a go at my comments so I'll have the odd pop back! I'm sure he can cope.

The truth is we must deal in the facts and not gossip be it well founded or not.......

The facts as I see it are
We did not resign the three out of contract although contracts were offered.
We did resign a number of young prospects.
We have brought in not one but two new goal keeprs.
No one has been sold off yet.
We have taken a bridging loan against the season ticket sales which we are going to pay very high interest on.
Hoffman has stated two bids have been made.
SISU say they will listen but do not have to sell.
CCFC have said when the money runs out we will go in to admin.

Have I missed anything.
