I disagree. After 40 plus years of support not going to see my team IS a sacrifice. I woyld imagine the thousands of other stays ways feel the same.

But nobody can see or hear you or your opinion sat at home?.......................Just sayin

Dont you think an decrease of 90% in attendances is "sayin'" something?

Absolutely but this is a one off chance to get our feelings across on live tv and do something different, we've been sat at home listening to the radio since the first day of the season and will carry on doing so unless we can get some publicity nationally

I agree with alot of that but the problem is if you don't get enough numbers the plan is harmful not helpful and the fact the organisation has been so haphazard and the fact the media and nopm have fallen out there is almost no hope of success. The smarter option is to say we are having a mass protest on the hill, get everyone there, if it turns out there is thousands of people then the organiser with a megaphone can announce a plan. If you get hundreds you have a nice protest on the hill, if you get thousands you can all go in and walk out, causing some chaos in the protest with thousands trying to buy tickets etc. It might end up delaying the start of the game too causing more coverage.

FWIW that makes sense to me.

Not how I'd have liked it to go(!) but yes, needs must and all that!

Im fed up with people knocking fans for doing what they believe in whether that is going into the game, standing on the hill or staying at home.
I will say that i believe the hill standers are making the biggest sacrifice for the cause in terms of time and effort.
Obviously their effort seems to embarrass yours to speak out with such condemnation !!!!

No, they are watching the game for free...

Those who have been on the Hill will confirm that its a decent view, do not knock it till you have actually tried it. When they built this venue they must have known that you can see two thirds of the pitch at any one time, by moving around to one side or the other you can see all the pitch and both goals.
There is a small stand in the way (where a few City fans sit as cheaper seats) but its not very big.
anyone who goes will be suprised at what they find, especially the pub and eating places 100 yards behind you.

So you contribute to the local Northampton economy and watch the game for free, making your gesture at standing on the hill rather futile.

Its not really contributing to the Northampton economy though is it. These pubs are owned and run by national chains, and I am pretty sure that McDonalds has other outlets outside of the Borough boundary. Whats wrong with watching the game while you are there? The point being that it may well draw some media attention. Its not for some (or most, which is fair enough) but let them get on with it. The argument that these people wouldn't go if they couldn't see the game is irrelavant - the hill is there - get over it!

Trouble is torch, the longer this goes on, it's becoming less of a sacrifice to me. I didn't even plan my day around listening to the radio commentary last week. After having a season ticket for over 40 years, that's come as a surprise to me.

I don't think I'm alone in this either.

I did the march, legends day, but I won't go to Northampton even to stand on the hill, but applaud those that do. They are making a bigger sacrifice than me I think.

These business pay business rates to the local authority, so regardless whether a national chain or a local corner shop those particular outlets are contributing to the local economy.

I have been offered free tickets and said no thanks. Will not go in even if I were paid the £17 to enter.
I can watch the game for free and make my own private protest, to me its morally wrong for us to be playing there. If we don't do something we will be playing in Northampton girl a lot longer than 5 years.

It's my choice as it's anyone who wants to go in, my view is its wrong but will not insult anyone who foes not agree.

Its not "MORALLY WRONG" - its something you dont agree with .Please dont confuse morals (subjective) with fact.

And yet again the protest is all aimed at genuine Coventry fans inside the ground. Provocative and unpleasant and will end in tears. Listen to your leader Michael and see a bit of sense -Fireworks???? Think that would be a shortcut to the Police Van Im afraid.

people going to the hill are just pissing away money and won't be reasoned with so just let them do it

To me its morally wrong, full stop.
If I wish to stand on a hill then that my choice just likes its yours to go inside the same stadium.
My view my choice.

All this bleating about what's morally right and wrong is just going to turn people off turning up to a protest, which is surely counterprodcutive.

How about just agreeing to differ and drawing a line eh, for the sake of everybody?

Why don't we all go???
I don't mean into the stadium, just 5-6000 people milling around in the pub/McDonald's by the hill.
It couldn't fail to make a point

Let's all go!!!!!
3-4000 people milling around the McDonald's and the pub near the hill.
It couldn't fail to escape sky's attention

We will have it on in The Establishment Free of Charge - rather than draw people away from businesses why don't you support the ones around the Ricoh or in the city centre that will already showing it? why go to the expense of big screens etc, when there are plenty of pubs and clubs desperate for added revenue from such games...support your local?

That would be nice but don't think THAT many would go.

Particularly as the Telegraph have latched onto talk of abandoning the Hill for other events. The non-internet watching fans may think the towel has been thrown in and NOPM has failed.

Well done to the handful of utter twats who decided to mouth off and cause the old bill to jump the twitter gun - they way it's been blow up is like WW3 was about to start.

Fisher will be laughing his bollocks off.

To be fair I am going to the Hill regardless plus have to be at work for 6 so will miss some of the game anyway.

But second choice would be your place like to go for a coffee or breakfast there with the misses has a nice garden with a nice atmosphere especially early on a Sunday
