Personally I dont mind sisu via ccfc buying the stadium, provided safeguards are put in place and they pay market value.

What this thread is about though is the benefit of owning the freehold to ccfc. In terms of the football club there is no need to own the freehold.

I have no real issue with them trying to increase the value of the club so they can sell on for a profit. But if you want something in life you have to pay for it.

You seem to be one of us that thinks that SISU should get the whole thing whatever. But if you now agree that safeguards are needed then we are more or less singing off the same hymn sheet. Because what we've seen is a situation where we had no idea what constituted the football club, Ltd or Holdings. I'd be worried that SISU would find a loophole/way out and use it to walk off with the freehold.

You must have missed where SISU have said they're going to fund the club at Sixfields whilst the new stadium is built - so no need to break NOPM if you are observing it.

Nice to know the money from the sales of numerous players is going back into funding the club. Then again, not paying the rent & getting a much cheaper rent helps!

Get the ground and anything connected to it independantly valued, give it to SISU, contracts and clauses, then on resale the council/acl/higgs get current valuation plus 20% of another valuation when sold, the value wont go down its a win win, when/if SISU turn us around they move on getting their money back, we get new owners and current ground owners get their money plus a little profit.

I apologise if you have said many times that we would need safeguarding in place if they got the freehold. Just don't remember you saying that before. And would have to be as legally watertight as possible as we all know what they are like.

If this was the case I would be happy for them to have it as long as the charity don't lose out and the council get their money back. That is unless it is just the ground and not the land. But that is what negotiations are for. And it is about time they started. ...and not one way negotiations either.

SISU can put it in as equity as long as they don't put it in as debt.
A SISU company can sponsor 'something' for £millions. Just like Man City do it.
They need to do something as if we all decided to go we couldn't be accommodated.

I dont really see why hardworking Coventry taxpayers should subsidise a failing, incompetent hedge fund.
