Could CCFC relocate to Hinckley (9 Viewers)

Could this be an option?

Positives

Already a ground in place which is plenty big enough to support our current fan base.
Closer than Northampton and 11k from Ricoh.
CCFC would own a ground a lot quicker and cheaper than buying land and looking for planning permission.
Any increase in capacity could be carried out at end of each season depending on crowd sizes and success on pitch
Club an ground under CCFC ownership.
Gives SISU a chance of selling up.

Negatives

Ground may not be up to league standard (but not a huge problem)
Fans may still stay away as not in Coventry (more may attend as closer than Northampton)
Could mean name change as doubt if we could be called Coventry City if not located in City of Coventry
FL may say no anyway.

Thoughts?

Would not like this as a long term move but i think at the least should go there over northampton, this season* if we are not going back to ricoh.

I must say I only live 10 mins walk away from said stadia...

I can't see it somehow..but against our current backdrop Fisher & Sep would probably be interested rather than build a new (Mythical) stadium.

BUT IT'S NOT IN COVENTRY!!

The fisher spin would be "We have listened to the fans and we have brought the team alot nearer to Coventry"

And being so near more fans would attend..that is fact ,, weather you agree or not..Gates would increase!!

FWIW I don't think we should play out of Coventry FULL STOP.

So, it's ok to be outside of Coventry as long as it's nearer than Sixfields?

If you think this is a positive, then you and others like you are one of the big reasons we all can't sing off the same hymn sheet.

So, get it into your heads, IF THE CLUB DON'T PLAY IN COVENTRY, WE AINT FOOKIN INTERESTED! Simples.

Have you been to the hinckley ground? Getting there from cov side is a mare, the ground isn't up to league specs. It is a non starter in so many ways

Stick your 'we' firmly up your arse. Hinckley is a no go for me personally, but if we played within a couple of miles outside of the coventry border I'd be happy with that.

Note I'm saying 'I'd' be happy with that, I don't claim to speak for other people that don't want or need to be spoken for.

You can stand on the corners and watch for free.
However, the ground is not up to league standard as not enough seats but a temp stand could get it up to 7k.

Is it still happening? Try refreshing a few times?

I can't see us moving to Hinckley. Having said that, a lot has happened in the last 10yrs that I couldn't see happening the week (& sometimes day!) before.
Thing is the stadium is not up to league standard. "Not a huge problem"(?) I think it is dependent upon what is needed to get it up to league standard. As for get-out from Sickfields clause being very expensive - SISU will surely just not pay it. I'd not be shocked if they have a team of stooges sifting through absolutely everything they can find with NTFC, or the chairman's name, on it - compiling a dossier to hit & bully them into submission with.
They stay for this season whilst upgrading work takes place at Hinckley..!
They wouldn't, would they???

Any money owed to NTFC would be alot cheaper than building a new stadium.

Nothing would surprise me anymore..and I mean ANYTHING!

CCFC did consider HUFC before and even went to see the board and ground, not sure why they never followed it up.

Because the FL restricted them to league standard grounds within 30m of Coventry, whoops I mean 35m, well anyway the FL 'regulations' are flexible enough.

The football league gave the club a list of grounds they would accept for a groundshare, my guess Is that the Hinckley United ground wasn't in the list.

But if it was further developed it could easily be an alternative and within Timmys ever diminishing ,shifting, pie in the sky budget.

You don't think it's his "Top Secret" site? Kept secret as they sought a way to further distress Hinckley...so they'd fold & have a nice relatively cheap site available...& access to a new customer base!

Hinckley will return in September albeit in a lower league.

How did they distress them? Get ACL to manage the lease on the ground? Never fails.

Now you come to mention it I did see a rather familiar guy with a tape measure hanging around there last week .
