Grendel what is the SISU masterplan ?. Rather than sniping at fellow fans ACL CCC what do you think SISU will do ?. They are in charge of the club where is it going, the past is history what is the future have you any ideas / insight as to the likely outcome ?.

Hinckley will return in September albeit in a lower league.

Have u not heard of a term..whats it called..err it's on the tip of my tongue...Oh Wait ..I've got it .."Groundsharing"

And SISU would actually take some credit for putting money into a sunken wreck that is Hinckley ..thus painting them as Knights in shiny armour.

Don't get me wrong ...I'm not advocating this is good..I'm just playing it out in my head!

No heard of groundsharing.

You suggest that the FL might sanction the move to Hinckley if the ground was developed.....who would do this? You're surely not suggesting that ccfc should invest in developing a ground they don't own, for a temporary groundshare?

No thanks. If Hinckley is now classed as the "Coventry Area" then I might as well support Nuneaton. At least they don't betray their fans.

a novel idea, but CCFC could try relocating to Coventry. there is an empty stadium their i believe and as a bonus it already has approval so no modifications are required. sounds too easy doesn't it.

The FL have been a joke in all of this.

As long as fixtures are fulfilled I have to say I don't think they give a shit about anything else ..this whole fiasco must have made you realise this.

If you read the FL blurb about how football is a sport to be enjoyed by all etc etc..pretty words but hollow reality.

I can't believe the club was moved out of Coventry with not a sniff of the bigger picture....just hollow words about some "new stadium"..Utter Bullshit..all of it.

They buy the ground...redevelop it & rent it out cheaply to Hinckley to share it.
Dreadful thought but would anything surprise you with this lot?

That is what I was thinking.

Let's face it ..when there were rumours and talk of us NOT playing at the Ricoh last season ..alot of us never really thought it would become reality.
All hot air , egos and dick waving.

But alas ..SISU have led us down a path that now seems to hold no sense of reality anymore..you can't second guess this lot..it's so bizzarre and awful that every poster on this site that thinks they might have an inkling whats about to happen can quite easily be believed.

Can't see it happening, Hinckley will have to start in the midland combination, so won't afford much rent.

It will also be more expensive to renovate a stadium, as you'll have to knock the stand's down to rebuild.

It's also 15 miles from Coventry city centre.

The one thing ALL CCFC DO agree on is that the number of unbelievable things that have happened to us over recent years is actually unbelievable! The old adage "always expect the unexpected" comes to mind

And give them first choose of which day they want to play, second fiddle again.......

A move to Hinckley as our "new stadium" would be truly the end of CCFC for me personally, but the sad thing is i can easily see it happening. If they can abandon the Ricoh and play in Northampton then anything is possible.

Could this be an option?

Positives

Already a ground in place which is plenty big enough to support our current fan base.
Closer than Northampton and 11k from Ricoh.
CCFC would own a ground a lot quicker and cheaper than buying land and looking for planning permission.
Any increase in capacity could be carried out at end of each season depending on crowd sizes and success on pitch
Club an ground under CCFC ownership.
Gives SISU a chance of selling up.

Negatives

Ground may not be up to league standard (but not a huge problem)
Fans may still stay away as not in Coventry (more may attend as closer than Northampton)
Could mean name change as doubt if we could be called Coventry City if not located in City of Coventry
FL may say no anyway.

Thoughts?

Temporary? possibly. Long term? Definiteley no its not in Cov

The football league gave the club a list of grounds they would accept for a groundshare, my guess Is that the Hinckley United ground wasn't in the list.

SISU had there head up their arses and assumed that the gate would only lose 2/3k thus they stated that the stadium must hold at least 7k which knocked out Hinkley as an option where as in real terms it would be ideal for today

I'm not sure that's right Warwick.

Football league members must have grounds with a capacity of a min of 5k, Hinckley's ground is 4300.

Only new members promoted into league 2 can have lower - 4k but with a capacity to reach 5k, and those changes must be made by May in their first season .

Yes but we have a 30 million pound budget i'm sure they could get one decent stand with that Still would't go thou as it is in Leicestershire worse then Northampton after all Fisher did say in the Coventry region not that far if you live in walsgrave?

Why is Leicestershire worse Than Northamptonshire?

Surely both locations are inappropriate but neither more than each other !!

Hinckley did offer to put in extra seating to give a capacity of over 5k, but CCFC never replied to the suggestion. As I understand it the Council are going to take over the ground and all weather pitches and rent it back to the new phoenix club.

New FL announcement to be made later. In view of the hardship on newly promoted clubs the minimum capacity will be reduced to 4,300

Oh! Don't all the misfits from Coventry go and live in Leicester ?
