Weeks ago anything to do with Cov City was the main talking point down the pub- SISU, The council, the team anything to do with the Skyblues now the subject hardly gets a mention many people i speak to who were regulars at highfield road and the Ricoh now say they are not interested anymore and have found new hobbies away from Football feel let down and find the subject boring - what a sad state of affairs is this the feedback others are now getting

I think people are just fed up with not being able to just talk about manly football things like should we play the diamond or why didn't we make a substitute in the last minute to hold onto the game.

My hobbie and interest is supporting the Sky Blues (as it always has been) and not OWNERS, COUNCILS & Stadia Opratives. Once again I'll be there on Sunday and just wish other supporters would quite the protesting (about what?) and get behind Steven Pressley & the TEAM!

I support my 'Life Long' TEAM, PLEASE, PLEASE come along and just enjoy the experience. PUSB!

What a good boy you are?
Do you think we want to be doing these protests?
Unlike you we do not want our team to be playing in Northampton, all your doing is accepting our club may never come back to Coventry.

Just because he goes ...doesn't mean He wants to go OVER Coventry.

I know what you mean, it's starting to get easy not being interested, we are all finding new things to do and discuss that do not include Coventry City.

a mate i use to go to games with who is Coventry born and bred (unlike me) has stated to me that the club no longer exist to him. i honestly don't think he whole heartedly means this, i think its just his way of coping. fingers crossed things can get sorted and i can convince him to come and watch the team again when they return to the city, whenever that may be.

Let's be adult about this. Football has absolutely nothing to do with football - so just leave it out, okay???

It's worth having a look at the MK thread regarding this. Apathy has set in for so many people. Like some others I'm so uninterested in Sixfields games.

I'm feeling the same as I can't make away games so far. It feels like something is missing.. It's October and I haven't seen us play yet for the 1st time in 20 years.... And yet I'm losing more and more interest as the time goes on

Not someone who's a regular season ticket holder (been on and off for the last few years) but this year, there was no way I was going to Northampton (partly for the principle of the thing and partly due to the increased time commitments). I've found myself not even bothering listening to the games on the radio either. Just checking the score a couple of times during the game.
I think it would be interesting to have some kind of poll towards the end of the season to see how closely people are still following the team, whether they have found something else to do, now follow another Cov team (be it Sphinx, Utd, Blaze or the Rugby team) and whether they would still be interesting to go to Cov games if they did come back to the Ricoh or to a new ground on the outskirts.
I have a feeling that there would be a lot who by then, really aren't that bothered about it anymore. It would be a good indicator at that point of how much SISU, ACL, the council and the FL have screwed up.

I wouldnt say Im losing interest in CCFC. In fact my enthuisiam in watching us climb the league is just as strong as normal and towards the team watching our youngsters excel. Ive really taken to Steven Pressley and his footballing philosphy and I feel we are going places with him at the helm. (How long we have him for is another matter). The interest part is just down to the fact we dont go to the ricoh every 2nd Saturday and get our 'fix'...I miss meeting up with the boys, sinking a couple then watching us play, have a sing song and praise/moan about the team, about subs, about the way we played etc which leads me onto my other point.

Im losing some interest in this forum because I joined up to read and talk about the football side of issues and obviously all we get now is off the field stuff. Its become boring.

If the club stays away for 5 years you have to question what sort of fan base we will have left.

Owning stadiums and income streams is all well and good, but if you don't have enough fans to generate that income then the club is dead.

Watch the fall and rise of Swansea no YouTube for the answers , teams have been through worse than us , success by whatever means brings back the crowds , and it doesn't seem to matter about owners ( man united , Cardiff , Portsmouth , Liverpool etc )

5 years? Even after one year our fan base will have moved on. We are dead as a club.

Lets get on the stupid hill and let the FL see how much differrence we can make.

I almost wish they would put me out my misery by announcing 'firm' plans for a new stadium.

Until then I will live in hope that we move back to the Ricoh before it is too late.

IMHO any attendance at Sixfields is just delaying the move back.

I believe at some point SISU will pull the plug and then blame the fans. Mark my words.

It is hard to say as traffic is up and down but you are right, unique visitors are down but still shoot up on match day. I think people read a lot still but just don't post as much as they did before.

We'd all be back after 3 games...................Like fuck we will Timmy !! I've been to 1 game this season at Port Vale, may make another couple before May. Apart from a short lull in 1981-1982 when I perhaps did about 8 games per year I've been to 30 games a season average since 1977 and they include 67 different stadiums in England where City had a competitive match. For the last 10 years we have very often gone as a family of five. We are all going to Cov Rugby again on Saturday and I'll probably catch the live game on Sunday but can't say I'd be that bothered if I had a better offer. That's how bad it's got now !
SISU SCUM OUT !

I don't think any other team has moved out of its town without firm plans for a new ground, whilst a perfectly good one sits empty.

The only other club that has similarities is Wimbledon.

I know that 95% of club owners are in it for the money, the difference is most know that there is a line not to be crossed.

The fact that sisu don't know, or don't care about that line should concern every City fan.

I think it's deeper than that Nick. I'm losing interest too, after 40+ years having a season ticket. I still want them to win, turn on the radio if I'm in on match day, but I no longer plan my week-end, holidays, jobs to do etc around the City. Most of the gang I go with have already switched to other things that may become permanent.

Yes, if the City ever get back to Cov, maybe they'll come back, but I wouldnt put money on it now. More likely if SISU were to go I think, but even then, some may not return. I hear how good a time it is watching Cov Rugger, standing having a pint in a good atmosphere watching the game....

I was at a funeral yesterday and met up with alot of city fans who I hadn't seen for years, not one of them or any of their extended families were going to Northampton (and neither knew of anyone who was going) and every man jack said they were suprised by how quick they were turning off from something that they had loved doing from when they were kids.
All were ex season tickets as were their families, who would all go to games together.
They all said the same, that they didn't really even listen to the radio commentaries and some didn't even know that we had played in the JPT the night before!
The overriding feeling was that NONE would go to the Fisherbowl (if it were ever to become reality), every one said that they would go back to the Ricoh even if SISU were still in charge but didn't think that would happen anyway.
Most worryingly they ALL thought that CCFC as we knew it was finished-it has lost it's affiliation with the city.
