Squad Formation (3 Viewers)

I posted a formation on another thread that's starting a little discussion so I thought it might be nice to post a football (not finance) related topic.

so using only what we have now, how would you start us if you had no injuries.
Mine is currently:
L.Jukiewicz
G.McSheffrey
C.Baker - D.Bell
G.Deegan
S.Clingan
C.Hussey - J.McPake - B.Turner - R.Keogh
J.Murphy

Subs: Dunn, Cranie, Wood, Eastwood, Clarke, Cameron, Thomas

Keep Bell and Baker fairly central (Bell can hold up well in the middle, whilst Baker can run at/take on players) and let Keogh and Hussey overlap :)
It lacks some width, but I feel the way we play doesn't lend itself to rely heavily on wingers.
With Keogh and Hussey bombing forward we can keep the ball in the middle until they make their runs when we can spray it out to them, allowing them to get the ball on the move and attack.

So what does everyone else think?

Following on from our previous discussion Sheepy, I am still not sure I would play Baker. I don't see the point of having Clingan and Deegan playing deep as its just too defnsive.

Procdoc, don't know if you were part of our previous conversation but this is where Sheepy started from. Having seen McSheffrey perform at the top of the diamond under Thorn in comparison to Baker it's clear for me that if we push him forward we will lose that spark in the middle.

If only we had two Gary McSheffreys :D

This, hopefully with a better striker than Eastwood partnering Juke

There is my problem, I was trying to find a way of fitting McSheffrey behind the striker, leaving us with either 1 upfront or playing Eastwood. I would rather have 1 upfront.
I personally liked Baker (under Thorn....) hence my wish to play him I guess. He'd probably have to end up on the subs bench then play the team that bamalamafizzfazz and others suggested

I like the idea of Baker at the tip of the diamond. It's where he played for Stockport and looked full of confidence there when given a go at the end of last season. It allows us to push Macca on alongside Juke and leave Eastwood out.

I think Baker's trickery, but lack of pace leaves him exposed out wide, but this affords him to go wandering and even slip into any space in those chanels when he wants, but without being isolated.

Macca will also pull out wide more often if played up top and someone like Baker can then fill in the middle. Whatever people think about the diamond it does still require width and movement or it will become narrow and predictable.
