Also by that time it will be generally accepted that we have the support levels of a Conference team.

For home games we already do... a top 7 club mind you woohoo!

Team Total Average
1 Luton Town 51,620 6,452
2 Wrexham 25,075 3,582
3 Grimsby Town 24,000 3,428
4 Cambridge United 20,964 2,994
5 Lincoln City 19,473 2,434
6 Chester City 18,714 2,339

Yep, they got in a mess and got stitched up as well - If it WAS your business you would have pulled the plug and liquidated way before now. It is to SISUs credit that they are struggling on.

Is it bollocks! Or are you on a wind up? I wish for heavens sake that they just admit defeat and go! but I don't think I'm going to be granted my wish ;-(

Fighting Financial Fairplay. Legal challenges, see how it goes!
http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/24333604

interesting read here! http://mattysfootythoughts.wordpres...ation-after-striani-launches-legal-challenge/

Will Financial Fair Play survive?
The European Commission process is ongoing, with a ruling expected in 2014. It is very likely for the case to eventually end up in the European Court of Justice, just like the Bosman ruling. Dupont is a very experienced and respected football lawyer. With Dupont on the legal team, it looks quite likely that Financial Fair Play will be torn up.

Whether it does or doesn't matters little, the only way SISU can compete on these crowds without effective FFP is to go further into debt, and if FFP is effective the cannot compete in the medium term.

Let them sink I say, I don't expect anyone to cover their fiscal incompetence.

What is more why do we want to bail out the club with such large debts? I'd rather a clean break, let someone else start with a clean slate & maybe they'll run the club in a sustainable manner, that's what we need, not these games of financial chicken, all the PR spin & unmitigated emotional blackmail!

Don't get too excited - there are probably not many Conference sides that take 900+ fans to away games.

Yeah but that is to the away clubs benefit in the main, 900 away is only the equivalent 50 extra fans at home, chickenfeed.

Sorry Jack, I should have made my point clearer and have now edited the post. You are quite right on your interpretation of the original.

The fact is joy seppella is a more successful business person than anyone on this forum. The strategy appears unfathomable but there clearly is a game plan somewhere.

Maybe Grendel, but most successful business people make mistakes (yep, I made a few I admit) but on this occassion it baffles me to know why Sisu appears to be throwing money down the drain when they could plug these losses by re-negotiating with ACL -- it's a game plan which makes no commercial sense ?

You're having a laugh mate. Based on gates of 2k paying 16 quid this season the turnover isnt even 800k, with pie sales and merchandise put it up to a generous 1 mill.

It doesn't leave a lot does it?

Not even enough to pay Joy & Tims "Management fees"

I would rather not call it "business". "Getting rich due to some poor fuckers misfortune" sounds more realistic.

That's a perfect definition of business

And yet (as I recall) you've generally been dismissive of GH who is also (I would imagine) a more successful business person than anyone on this forum (particularly given the deal he's pulled off in the last couple of weeks).

Odd.

Not really - hardly put his money where is mouth is as far as the clubs concerned has he? A curious "free rent" deal -- which wasn't free at all -- and some involvement with an American who wanted to buy Charlton or Leeds and didn't. There is no evidence to suggest he wants to invest in the club at all is there and his continual siding with the ridiculous Elliot is not, in my view, a great idea if he wants to be taken seriously

So I'm correct in assuming that you believe that Joy has invested a few million of her own stash?

No but clearly reputations can be damaged by involvement in a high risk enterprise. Retaining a profile and standing aside damages nothing.
If Hoffman wanted to buy the club, with investors, I find it very difficult to believe there has not been an opportunity in the last few years. Do you? Truth is he probably has more sense.

I think that you need a willing buyer and a willing seller to do a deal.

My reading of the situation is that SISU have never been a willing seller at a rational price.

Perhaps current events will bring a touch more realism - although I'm not holding my breath.

You said successful business women, so is Hoffman not successful in business ?
You now turn it around by saying he has not put any money into a club he does not own and she won't sell?

Make up your mind. So is it about Business or football club ownership? because if it is the latter Joy has lost hands down....

Do you mean like that time Orange Ken was annoyed by him trying to takeover because he had to keep coming back from Portugal?

As a now retired successful business man, having run my own companies for over 30 years, I cannot for the life of me understand Sisu Capital's wish to continue throwing investors money down the pan when a possibly cheaper alternative would be to re-negotiate with ACL. As an investor in stocks and shares myself, there is no way I would invest in Sisu Capital Ltd -- I find it strange that others do !
What exactly Sisu is hoping to achieve, as a business man, baffles me ! Had my company been losing money each week hand over fist and there was a way I could stem these loses and increase my customer base, I would be negotiating like crazy to do so.
To me, Sisu is committing commercial suicide - and I can't think why !

Really, would any sound business man/enterprise present a five year business plan that loses on gate receipts alone £170,000 per home game or £4M per annum or £20M over five years and expect a financial institution to buy it off saying "yes carry on old chaps you know it makes sense".

How can the business world have confidence in these jokers is beyond me with their unbelievable track record in PR and investments - they shoudn't be touched with a barge pole.

Knock down the wall, take the blinkers off, screw the owners!

Support your team, wether you go to the ground, stand on the hill, chatting online or just to a friend, your support for the team (the players on the pitch) is still important.
If they were back at the Ricoh you would be supporting them! Still hating the owners still campaining, only the location would have changed....again!

Yes i can be sanctimonious condescending arrogant ill informed, but in general i am right :pointlaugh: even when im wrong

That post just cheered me up a bit on an uneventful nightshift lol

I know you're right. Sisu have zapped any enthusiasm i had for our club right out of me.

I just want to go back to block 28 in the telegraph stand.
