With the boys doing so brilliantly well this Season....finishing automatic promotion ,would in all probability be well beyond us .... but if we were to reach the play offs and the final .....would the boycott still stand ? .... n.o.p.m ?

I'm not gonna lie I'd be desperate to get my hands on some. Not been to a game at Sixfields but I've never seen us win anything in my life and I'll be damned if I missed out on a chance to.
Long road yet though

I think the boycott would still last as are we that fickle not to go to 23 leagues and sixfields then go to a playoff home draw. morons if people did and not real fans. just glory fans who would not care about our situation. We are back home by xmas though remember?

Season Ticket holders should have PRIORITY IMHO!

They would have priority, but whether they deserve to is another thing.

Who gets the ticket money? If SISU then count me out. What they have done to this club is indefensible.

We will not make the play offs.

No chance.

We dont do top 10 finishes. Look at tranmere last season. Top for ages kept winning and winning.

Then injuries and suspensions kicked it.

Its olny october, you need to see where we are in march/april.

13 games 24 points =1.85 per game
we will need 60 points from 33 games = 1.82 per game

so however well we are doing - we need to maintain that for the whole season to hit the play offs

it will be difficult

No, I won't go to Shitfields to see CCFC ever. I wouldn't do the playoff final as I'm not going to any City games this year. As Torch has said, I can't just switch my support on for away games and off for home games, and for me it's best to forget all about them until we're back in Cov, as it just hurts too damn much! Even watching the Sheff U game on TV was like wanking over pictures of your ex who you're still in love with...not healthy.

They deserve more than your contempt that's for sure. They've stuck by their team which is more than I've done so I'm not going to slag them off.

They have funded the hostage situation.

We would not be in Northampton if the attendance every game was zero.

People need to have some morals.

have to disagree there.. as much as i wont go to sixfields.. i honestly dont think 1000 cov fans is the difference to SISU being there or not. the income from such a small amount of ticket sales is neither here nor there in the scheme of their current losses.. just my 2 cents

ps - a percentage of those fans prob got freebies too.. i have been offered free tickets by the club twice this month!

Try to refrain from swearing, it makes you look incapable of intelligent debate.

SISU have taken our club hostage. That is the best way to sum it up.

They won't give it back until the get their ransom - a stadium for which they didn't contribute a penny of its construction.

Hang on. Get your facts right.

I said that "anyone who says they are glad we are playing in Northampton DESERVES a slap".

I didn't threaten violence - or say that the people entering Sixfields are glad we are there.

So what exactly are you on?

I know what you mean about the income being almost insignificant. My theory with zero supporters theory is that if the attendance was literally zero then the press would be all over it even more, and that it would be very embarrassing to SISU. At least with the current figures they can claim that some people support their removal of the club.

It's hard to take a moral lecture seriously from someone who wants Northampton supporters to see their side relegated and wrongly describes the thousands who've withdrawn financial support as lazy and doing nothing.

yeah fair enough i guess.. but to be honest im a little surprised the press aren't all over it already this season.. im under no illusions that we are a big fish , but we are coventry city ( 34 years in the premiership, founding members, fa cup winners, hill as a manager changing the face of football with us blah blah blah ) and now we are playing in league one, having nearly gone bust twice in the last 10 years & with 1000 or so fans in small stadium nearly 40 mils from our actual home.. and the press dont really want to know, would those few fans deserting us make all the diffrence for the press to come running & give us some proper coverage ?? im not sure it would.. i just think no ones bothered, welcome to football in the year 2013!

It might be hard, but take it. Northampton have contributed to this situation greatly.

Also, where have I said those withdrawing financial support are lazy? I've said those not protesting are lazy - not those withdrawing financial support...

There are some idiots on this site.

Personally, I'm sick of all the politics around the club. I just want to watch my team. That said, I'm unlikely to go to Sixfields on the basis that its just not convenient and I really don't fancy having abuse hurled at me by some of my fellow "fans" on the hill.

There's an obvious direct crossover between those no longer going and those not protesting, unless we're actually only down around 50-100 season ticket holders or however many people turn out to these protests. And no, Northampton fans have done nothing so it hardly fits into the whole people power mindset when we're being punished for things a board have done without our input also.

I don't get going to Northampton to protest about going to Northampton.

Why not protest outside the Ricoh? Is it because you can't see the game from there?

In which you call out former season ticket holder torchomatic for 'literally not doing anything', despite him making a conscious choice to withhold the funds from one or more season tickets he'd otherwise have bought. The tagline 'Makes me feel good to do something about it. At least I know I'm trying' shows you up. You've built yourself a lovely little perch from which to sneer.

You know what 'not doing anything' means right?

By not giving funds you are not 'doing anything'. It doesn't take effort to not give funds...

To the above question re the Ricoh. Why protest there - there's nobody to see it!!!! What would be the point. Might as well protest in an airing cupboard...

I know what it means, and more importantly I know exactly how you meant it also. If it doesn't take effort to break a long-term habit and suddenly stop going to games, you should tell everyone here to stop whining like girls.

If the idea was that people staying away were literally not physically doing anything, that's closer to the literal truth but would contradict with your zero support theory a touch, unless it only counts when they're doing exactly what you are.

I don't think anyone has a long term habit of going to Northampton to watch football.

I'd rather that people stayed at home rather than go to Northampton, obviously. I just believe that if everyone was protesting, ie 10,000+ then we'd get a much faster resolution.

Also, the reason Torchy got stick was that he ridicules the people on the hill - which is totally ridiculous.

Eh? The people still going to Northampton aren't the people in question as obviously they're not breaking the habit.

It's those who've got into a groove of shelling out hundreds of pounds each year to see mild disappointment mixed with familiarity who are now being denied that, and by purposely not going whereas they automatically would otherwise it is a form of protest. It doesn't just have to be marches and placards to count.

I don't ridicule I just question why they are doing it as it makes NO sense and has ZERO affect. And, more importantly and most annoyingly it makes them and you feel superior to everyone else. You cry that no one else is "doing anything" and as AJS said if breaking the habit of a lifetime (40 years in my case) isn't doing anything then I don't know what is.

If anything brings back CCFC to Coventry it won't be down to 50 people standing on a hill it will because 9000 people made a stand and boycotted Sixfields.

Also, the reason Torchy got stick was that he ridicules the people on the hill - which is totally ridiculous.

No doubt about it, I think 90% of the people would be at Wembley if not more. Look at Crewe last season when there was a sniff of Wembley!

Too right. The CT "Keep Cov In Cov" online petition annoyed me. They were crowing about 15K people signing it yet double that turned up at the Ricoh for the Crewe game. It's a lot easier to enter a bit of text of a website yet we only got half of that attendance.
