Season Tickets Sales to Temp SISU back to the Ricoh (2 Viewers)

I was thinking if we the fans could convince Sisu to bring the team back to the Ricoh.

My idea would be to start a petition to show that fans (who could afford it) would purchase a 2 and half years worth of season tickets with a proviso that they must bring them back by Christmas or January at the latest. If we could show that 5000 fans would be willing to do this then I would hope they would see the light and come back.

I am not holding my breath though.

I can't imagine you'd get many people willing to commit two and a half years' worth of cash to the same people who've just moved the club miles away. The trust is gone.

I'd sign up to that. As long as it's pointed out that a rental deal gets them back there as well as a freehold purchase. I don't want it used by the club as "the fans back us owning the Ricoh"

You are right the trust is gone, but we the fans need to do something, nothing else is working and if we could show Sisu/ACL/Council that we the fans are willing to stump up £300 hundred grand (5000 x 600 for 2.5 seasons on average) to get the team playing back at the Ricoh perhaps trust can start to be mended.

Wooo hooo.... another supporters group!!!!

Its an idea that could be taken up by one of the groups if they want, you are right to many splinter groups, but andyboy81 what is your grand plan to get the team playing back in Coventry?

MY grand plan?? I'm not going to even pretend that I have one or that I possess the answers to this situation! All I am doing is going to Sixfields when I can to support the team in the hope that 2/3 season MAX.. and I must stress MAX... we will be back in Coventry be it the Ricoh or anywhere else. People jumping on SISU regarding moving the club.. Yes I agree that its a shocking decision and i can see why people don't want to go but if 2/3 years of heat-ache get this club on a level footing then I am willing to deal with it.

I think the fans have gotten lost and confused with all of these different campaigns e.t.c. People fighting amongst themselves calling each other names and generally acting like a bunch of c**ts for what?? Don't we all want the same thing??

In the Short term, moving forward, there are 2 things that I would like to see happen;

I admire the petitioning, protesting and everything else that has been done up to now however I think it ALL needs to be ditched and relaunched. I think it all need to be organised and done under ONE campaign and one organisation. Only then will the strength of numbers involved in this be shown. Maybe we could relaunch with a sacrifice.. we have a hill, is that Jesus fella from singers corner still knocking about??

The second thing, and I feel this is just as important, is the time and place that the protesting is done. Before kickoff, at halftime and after final whistle! Whilst the players are on the pitch and playing the best football seen in years THEY should be the focus of our attention and the ones getting the support. I have had enough of the feel good factor being destroyed mid game with "SISU OUT" being chanted.

A good idea imo. We could have a promise/commitment from fans that if sisu come back we will buy season tickets not two and a half years perhaps the rest of this season and next, I think the take up on that would be high, certainly higher than 5000 and I am sure would make them think

Excellent points, I agree scrap all current groups including the Trust and start a fresh. But I would like to see us in Cov sooner the 2 to 3 years.

We could promise that we'd purchase these 2 and a half years season tickets to pursuade Sisu to bring us back to the Ricoh and when that works and the deal is sorted, we could all go back on the agreement and point and laugh at Joy Seppala!!! LOLtastic!!!

I joke of course, though - two wrongs do not a right make!!!

You would do it, you would prove it.
Cov playing this football would get 12-14 k fans IMO. Also a bumper crowd for the return.

However SISU would come up with an avoidance tactic as they are trying to pressurise ACL and returning to the Ricoh is completely at odds with their plan

Ok, maybe I should say... "making steps in the right direction within 3 years"

Meaning... Not having to rely on SISU handouts just to keep the club afloat

So would we start paying back the Sisu debt? With interest? After all don't want any more handouts.

A new stadium may give us a few £100k extra income, but at what cost when the debt taken out to build it is taken into consideration?

You mean the SISU debt that has meant that you or I have been able to watch our team play every week??

No, I mean the Sisu debt that means we're playing in a new stadium or own the freehold of the Ricoh.

I see a benefit for Joy, but not for CCFC over a long term rental deal.

If Joy manages to leave the club with half of ACL at a price lower than the formula and/or a far better long term lease at virtually nothing, then I'll say "Fair play, I don't like the way you did it, but no-one can deny you used your skills to add value and ultimately the deal you got if fair for the club, which is all I care about".

why is everyone so adamant that they are gonna slap his huge rental deal which is gonna be worse than ACL?? Has there even been any proof that they would do this???

Don't think it will be a rental deal, in my opinion the only reason to be so desperate to obtain the freehold is to be able to load it with debt. Get the freehold for well below market value, take out credit against the freehold up to the amount SISU want as a return and then they walk away leaving CCFC tens of millions in debt and at risk of losing the stadium if they can't service that debt. Would give us big problems for decades to come.

Can't see any other reason they need the freehold or any other way they are going to get their money back. Even Joy said the the Telegraph piece so isn't interested in football and wants her money back.

Not like the council would do that is it?

Unless im reading this wrong? Plenty of enlightened folk maybe correct me!

6.1 Value of the Council's investment in ACL
The Council have a 50% share in ACL. ACL had the option to pay £1.9m rent per annum or
a £21m premium. ACL have paid rent of £600k to CNR since the 1 February 2006.
ACL exercised their right to pay the £21m premium on the 2 June 2006 therefore
CNR/CCC will be entitled to receive "super rent" in the future. This is payable when net
profits before tax are greater than £3.75m. The percentage of profits due to CNR/CCC
above this threshold starts at 10% and increases to 50% in a series of bands.
