I know things are bad at the moment with our club but Oddball said it best " Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change? " !

Because SISU suck. Enough of the positive rubbish. We must recognise how bad things are at the club and drive the board out!

Yeah totally agree we need to do something but if we focus solely on the negative what sort of fan are we going to be on the first day of the season? We owe it to AT and the players to get behind them no matter what!

And any way Liverpool is too far away for me to start supporting them! ;-)

I'm normally very positive, but our club is a mess now and we've just lost our 3 best players (definitely 2 anyway) for a little bit of compensation.

I really am scared for the season ahead :(

I have to admit this season is starting to make the Afghan troubles look like a walk in the park, but hey at least every time AT open his mouth he builds our confidence in him!!!!!

Some questions:

1. who would you replace SISU with?
2. is it better to have SISU fund the club or risk administration?
3. what do you mean by 'positive rubbish'?
4. who is failing to recognise things are bad at the club?
5. what happens if you drive the board out?

I'd appreciate it if you could answer those questions because it would substantiate your opinions.

It really isn't THAT bad.. our squad has a lot of positives as well that we can focus on... we have a replacement goalkeeper who is still of good quality and able to compete at this level (which is in my eyes is the Westwood problem solved to an adequate extent, Murphy was our best option)... AND we have a good solid defefense in front of him! Not to mention a young Jutkiewicz who I believe we still haven't seen the best of and will really shine this season. And finally we have Andy Thorn who I think most of you will agree is the best man to get our squad to perform at the best of their ability.

The way i see it, as it stands is this... We currently have a good side that will avoid relegation (maybe a few places higher) PROVIDING we don't get a lot of injuries. And as we are expected to get a couple of higher lever signings this should cement us further up the table. How far is up to Thorn and the gang to show us :) Lets face it it can't be that hard to finish higher than our previous dummy managers.

As for the finances of the club.. there isn't much we can do but whine. So I say let it play out and hope for the best... Whilst backing our club as much as we can :)

You are right SY79. When someone does try to present some positivity around here they get shot down by the negative nancys that frequent these boards.
Lets face it as much as we love our city it is only a football team and believe it or not sports is supposed to be part of the entertainment industry and for recreational purposes. If you don't enjoy it or want to share a positive attitude with others that do still enjoy their hobby then do like a lot of others and stop following the team.

The one thing we need to do now is get behind Thorn and whoever plays for the team. Just remember Coventry City will live on longer than any individual players or any group of owners

Oh, wouldn't it be nice to find something to be positive about as we head towards the new season, but the hope and optimism that abounded at the end of the last one has brutally been snatched away by venture capitalists Sisu, and their silk suited, smooth talking, advisers, who at this very moment are continuing to sell anything, or anyone that isn't nailed down.
Andy Thorns fine efforts of last season have meant nothing to the owners, and instead of kicking on from our good end to the season, and improving the squad , they do the opposite and hold a fire sale, which has seen our best players, leave the club.
It has always been my opinion that sisu should never have got into football, the heat in the kitchen was always too severe, and if you can't provide the financial muscle, "stay out of football"
As we head into the coming campagne, there can be no doubt that our squad is very much depleated, from the one that struggled last year,
Its a fact, Andy Thorn, may prove to be a decent manager, but "merlin he aint"
so come on ,give us a clue! on what exactly do you base your optimism

You make some valid points but in reply to your question, Its based on the anxiety of waiting 13 weeks since the final whistle at Carrow Road to the Kick off against Leicester on August 6th.

The club may be struggling financially but you never know we may just get it right on the pitch and surprise a few people.

I don't give a shit who is wearing the shirt or who owns the club, I will be there (at Birmingham as I am on holiday for Leicester) supporting my beloved Sky Blues and trying to be the 12th man for Andy and the boys.

That is what I base my optimism on Sir Tank. If there are no straws to clutch at then why bother supporting our team at all, we all feel animosity towards the board but we need to put the football team first and offer support when it is needed.

Tbf we haven't sold anyone yet... And I'm putting my blind faith in Thorn, we are NOT in admin, regardless of what the telegraph says we still exist!! We still have Juke who was meant to have gone and Clingan has said he enjoys it here. As mentioned, we're getting anxious because Telegraph is scaremongering - im as guilty as anyone. But we arent Dagenham and Redbridge who are struggling to exist atm. Im ranting now lol

Some questions:

1. who would you replace SISU with? Erm, Gary Hoffman and his backers?!
2. is it better to have SISU fund the club or risk administration? The above rules that out.
3. what do you mean by 'positive rubbish'? Acceptance of being treated like sh1t. Christ - look at what happens at clubs like Liverpool with Roy Hodgson - simply because of poor results. Wouldn't happen here - we're so used to being sh1t on there's no fight left in our fans.
4. who is failing to recognise things are bad at the club? We all recognise it but nothing's being done about it.
5. what happens if you drive the board out? The Hoff takes over, buys 50% of the Ricoh and we have a more stable future.

I'd appreciate it if you could answer those questions because it would substantiate your opinions.

Sorry if my response seems like i'm agitated, but we have owners sending us to League 1 who have remortgaged our training ground and consistently let our stars run their contracts down and leave for free.

These clowns had a gameplan when they joined to buy young, cheap, talented players to get us up and the idiots abandoned it the second they realised they could cash in on players such as Fox and Dann.

This is an entertainment industry in a sense and SISU have prayed on our love of the club without offering anything return.

According to SISU the majority shareholders are EXTREMELY high up on the rich list - so there really is no need them to be claiming poverty.

These investors do not believe in our 'project'. If they did they wouldn't be running us into the ground.

I think we all will and tankie will be no exception. Being extremely downbeat and concerned for next season as many are does not compromise our love of the club or mean we should do something else for a hobbie as suggested elsewhere. If it was merely a hobby i would have given it up ages ago. Its a labour of love

I cant beleive fans are still falling for Hoffmans hot air. So far we have some 'promises' that he will buy half the ricoh for £10m and invest in the team, yet we know none of the backers who quite possibly are former board members who got us in the original mess, he has put forward an invalid offer of £1 because again he doesnt want to name the investors and he is using the telegraph to sensationalise every story coming out of the club. If the ground-share could be bought for £10m then why havent SISU done this already as they have loaned more than this amount already and it would make sense to buy the ground to generate more income. Also an Alan Higgs representative was on radio saying nobody had approached them to even discuss buying their share. Im far from loving SISU but i just cant beleive people think he is a knight in shining armour when we know next to nothing of his grand rescue plan.

How could Hoffman speak with The Alan Higgs Trust about buying half of the Ricoh when it's the football club that own the option? It is £10mil though - been said by the club before now. Fact is SISU haven't allocated sufficient funds to our 'project' or 'brand' - because they have no interest in football or the City of Coventry.

They saw an opportunity to make some money, then cocked it up through greed by selling our best players.

Richard Keys said on Talksport that Freddie Shepherd is part of the deal. Gary Hoffman is as well respected in the business world as they come. This will NOT be hot air. What it will be is him getting the club as cheaply as possible so that more can be spent on the squad and making us succeed.
