Playing the way we are - 15,000 - 18,000 at the Ricoh
Playing the way we are 1,500 - 2,500 at Sixfields

And you're a business man ? Don't make me, as a potential investor, laugh !

You need to look at the bigger picture, the Sky Blues have no future whatsoever if either the club or the owners own our own stadium and have access to ALL revenue streams.

Sorry but there is no evidence to support your forecast.

Well the 1500-2500 at sixfield is based on data I think-the Ricoh figure subject to conjecture I agree- but even if you reference last years home attendances as the comparator the maths to move to Norhtampton doesn't stack does it?- thus does VOR not post a reasonable hypothesis?

Luckily it's that transparent about what is happening we don't need rocket science.

Either we will be sold in 2020 for the relative value of 110 million by then as a lower championship/league one club with a 12k stadium. (Ahem)

Or

we sign a long term bargain rent deal.
Get some financial stability be on the fringe of the championship play offs success a try to get as much of the 39-60 back as you can.

Good grief you argue against yourself in the same sentence... a brilliant skill- well done.

You haven't read it properly (under the terms & conditions we were playing under at the Ricoh, no chance of making money either short or long-term!). TO BREAK EVEN AT THE RICOH WE'd Require gates in excess of 23,000!!!!!!!!!!

Ok my friend- we both know what you initially wrote and what you now rely on aren't the same. No problem

But that was of course based on a rent of 1.2 million

Please explain in more detail
Going through both scenarios and how it will in the long term work out better for us/SISU to build our own stadium rather that rent

Would we be playing so well if we were playing at the Ricoh? The higher the crowds seem to get, the more arseholes that attend. Football is a confidence game, as we habe seen this season, confidence is hard to have when you're getting booed and jeered at every mistake.

And what would it be under a new rent proposal with 80% F&B?

We crumbled at the first sign of that type of pressure and expectation at Port Vale. But faired better at wolves.

However that is not a reason not to return the manager and coaching staff including sports psychologists have to rectify that.

an argument for football behind closed doors then Gregg- surely your not an advocate of that?

Compare the full debut of Phillips and Haynes. I know individual temperament is a huge factor, but if i'm correct i remember Haynes being physically through the pressure. The Ricoh is fantastic, but i can imagine it being intimidating for the younger players in the squad.

SP has worked magic, but he will never be able to stop the prats that get on the players back at the drop of a hat.

Not at all, Im just saying there is far less pressure on the players this season because we're not playing at the Ricoh.

Its a hypothetical debate as sadly it appears we will never know.
I've long sat in the stands watching CCFC and been amazed at how our own supporters berate our own players- David Smith going back to the 80's was one such. Mc Sheffrey last year another- not great behaviour at all- but I remain unconvinced that 'we wouldnt be doing this well at the Ricoh' argument holds much credibility to be honest.

I was at Walsall yesterday- prior to us scoring there were one or two around me starting to express displeasure at the odd misplaced pass or errant shot.. so I take your point- but I dont think its too much different anywhere in football(or life actually) to be honest.

I love this bigger picture analogy. We are Coventry City. We are back in the old division 3 and our average gate is around 2000. I wonder just how bad things could get before your view would change, if ever. Even if for a second I was going to buy your views, the test would be to look toward the next 3 years and try and visualise the future....still with the same protagonists involved there isn't much chance of major change

Once and for all its important that someone says that the "boo boys" are not and never have been part of the issue, these characters are part and parcel for every club and professional footballers have to contend with it and overcome it as part of their job. Anyone harping on about this as a factor clearly doesn't really understand football on a basic level and should largely be ignored. I feel better for that.

Then don't go, reduce the crowd and we will be brilliant

Or, do you always want to play at this level in front of a small crowd ?

Rubbish
How many clubs actually own there stadiums?

'looking at the bigger picture' if our owners owned the stadium the 'club' could possibly be paying more rent than that which they could be paying to another landlord(acl or ntfc).my own opinion is that more fans will attend home games to sample the 'brazilian' type of football you've posted about seeing at sixfields. Having been to shrewsbury, port vale, wolves and Walsall this season I,ve witnessed very commendable performances from a young side and enjoyed the atmosphere/experience each time but I,m still not tempted to watch home games out of the city.

So maybe they should build a ground that holds only 5,000 that way they will only have to play in front of a small crowd and no Arseholes will ever enter .

So are you also saying that none of the players are good enough to play for a bigger club in a higher league because that is what will happen there.

F..king pressure i get more pressure then that every day I work that's life put up with it or find a new career.

Sadly the maths are irrelevant hence the ridiculous JR challenge, its as simple as Joy beating the Council and nothing else matters, ironically she hasn't yet realised taking on local government is a little more challenging than what she is use too.

OK, lets just take VOR's top estimates of 18K at the Ricoh Vs 2.5K at Sixfields.

Lets say its £9 to get in, based on how much Tim has dropped the entry fee.

That's £160K Vs £22.5K

How much is a pie and pint? A fiver perhaps? Thats 27,900 they've got to shift before they make up the difference. Eleven pies and eleven pints for each paying customer.

Our fans will be the most obese alcoholics in the football league.

And before you say they will get more fans at HR2 I'll wait until Tim lays the first brick before I buy into that scenario.

There is no chance 18,000 would attend. Under robins with mcgoldrick scoring for fun we scraped 10,000. Many of those were not paying customers and gate receipts have never exceeded £5.2 million even in the championship days and that included vat.

I think its your calculator that needs changing.
