For those of you that went, how did the young lads play 2nd half? Who impressed the most?

Bigirimana was absolutely brilliant...SIGN HIM UP ON LONG TERM CONTRACT!!!!!
Jeffers worked really hard.
Callum Wilson was sharp and was dangerous.
Cyrus Christie had a better second half to his first.
Connor Thomas showed his class and Josh Ruffels apart from missing a sitter also passed the ball very well.

The academy lads with the likes of O'donvoan and wood were by far the better team and seemed more hungry to get goals.
Just hope SISU dont sell them :/

PLAY UP SKYBLUES!!!

I agree with the above!! Real potential to be a fantastic player!

And Wilson had a decent game. Always looking to run at defenders (and come out on top too!!)

Christie also done well, playing in different positions (LB and RB) and completing the whole 90 minutes!!

And it is true that tyey have been trained in the academy to play AT's way!!

Yup, don't disagree with cooper. But remember this was against Nuneaton, who didn't have a whole new team take the pitch & they are no further along in their pre-season than us!

BTW it was Cranie who screwed up for the first Nuneaton goal, dived in a bit and failed to keep himself between the ball & goal & allowing the striker to get his shot off, it should never have been that easy.

Ive heard about Gael for about 3 years now from agents who all thought then he had everything to be a real good pro, Cov will do well to hang onto him for long but i think this time will put a massive sell on clause and demand a big fee. Wilson is another that was thought of as having the ability to do well, it seems now 3 years on things are starting towork out for them....

Looks like the long term future is quite bright. I can see some of the lads getting some action this season. But that can only be a good thing!

Gael Origami turned down two English clubs currently in Europe to stay at cov. Looked alright aswell.
Christie had a great game. Crunched their number 9 in the first half.

I would say that about 5 of the young lads played well and look promising for the future, but the first team looked disinterested and generally rather poor.

He looks like Neymar!? Played a peach of a pass through as well.

Not going to lie if Xavi had done that people would have been creaming their pants.

I know its early and we have only seen him play a little and he won't be as good as him, but still anyone think he was, a similar player to messi, quick, skillful, great passer and reads the game well.
Could be a huge player, still want to see if he can break into the first team next year:)

Can't blame the first team for looking disinterested. First pre season is more of a warm up and it sounds as though we were passing the ball and controlling the game. It would have been nice to see some goals from the juke\eastwood\sheff partnership but at the end of the day at least they came through with no injuries.
The second half team are playing to displace the established players so for them it was about being in the shop window. Plenty of positives to be taken from the match, roll on the next friendly

sadly when we talk of these players being the future of CCFC we really mean the financial future of CCFC because any who are going to make it big will be sold just as they really come good. Harsh reality for smaller clubs. Hopefully they might make us a few quid though

Apparently a board member was there in the little stand to the away end's left, and would have definately heard the 'we hate sisu' chant..

I think people are getting a little carried away that Bigirimana was "brilliant". He started brightly (all of the 2nd XI did imo) and was passing the ball about really well, but he also went very quiet for 20 mins in the game before picking it up for the last 5.

First half we were pretty poor. It's great to see us knocking the ball about, but we just didn't have the cutting edge going forward. The lads in the 2nd half really turned that around though and Thomas played two great through balls to O'Donovan (who finished well).

Really hope we see more of Thomas, Bigirimana, Christie and Wilson this season. They all stood out alongside the older pro's today.
