Can we just quit Sixfields and go home Mid season? (2 Viewers)

Just wondered if a deal is reached regards the Ricoh, can we quit Sixfields this season and return. Or would we have to wait until next season?
Also taking it further, if a deal is agreed and we return to Ricoh next year (proof must be provided, no trust there) would anyone watch the last remaining games there or wait until the Ricoh next season, regardless of a promotion Season or not.

Me personally, as long as it is official that we are returning home, i would probally go watch some games at sixfields, we are playing great and i miss supporting the boys. After all as long as we are returning it is job done with NOPM is it not?

Second question is interesting. I suppose as long as it's cast iron we're coming home I might go to some games as it's job done, it'd still feel wrong to codone us playing there though.

I guess it'd be one of those you don't know about until it happens.

The Sixfields deal in supposed to be a 3 year deal with an option for a further two years.
I would reckon that there would be an option to finish earlier but there would have to be a notice period (or payment in lieu of notice).
How long this notice period is not publicly known. I would suspect that the financial commitment will be a season at a time.
The interesting point is when does the go/no go on season 2 at Sixfields kick in and how SISU/ Otium have factored this into their discussions with CCC. They may feel that they have time to stretch the talks with CCC out to squeeze a better deal.

As an aside, the deal with Northampton was made after the fixture list was issued by the FL. Should CCFC still be at Sixfields next season will the FL change their fixture rules to give preference to Northampton over Coventry? Existing rules (well, guidelines) suggest that Coventry would get priority being in the higher league.

from a football league point of view it wouldn't be an issue. they have allowed teams to play home games at more than one ground in a season before and of course they always have their clause which seems to allow them to ignore any rule they want to. It wouldn't look good on them at all if everything was set for a move back to the Ricoh and they blocked it.

there's the issue of getting out of the contract at Northampton. that of course requires Cardoza to insist on enforcing it. he's going to look an out and out money grabber if he does insist on payment for the club to get out of the contract over and above any out of pocket expenses. and of course CCC / ACL could offset the cost of any get out.

Personally I think if an agreement is made we will be back at the Ricoh within a couple of weeks. Depending on how our fixtures line up it may be that the next home game after any agreement is made is back at the Ricoh. The stadium appears to be ready so it would just be a matter of policing (and they seem to be able to arrange that at pretty short notice for replays) and getting all the stewards and other staff back in.

Be fantastic news if it did come back. No one could deny that. If the club did move back to the Ricoh mid season they'd technically have to provide travel for all ST holders from Sixfields to the Ricoh and back. Doubt many would be on the coaches mind you!

If they announced tomorrow that we were returning to the Ricoh in January I wouldn't bother going to any of the remaining Sixfields games still. I supported Cov because they were the shortest distance, if I was going to travel distances for home games I'd have made a cannier choice. Aylesbury or someone.

The agreement has a break course on a seasonal bases, so NTFC would expect payment for the whole season.
Should not be a problem as income from moving back would be far > then paying two lots of rent.
Good planning from SISU I would say to put the break clause in.

Yea but there is only about 500 ST holders so it wouldn't matter anyway to them

I'm guessing matchday tickets would go back to what they were at the Ricoh unless you had a sixfields season ticket

I'd be checking the very small print of any written contract... And does a verbal agreement constitute a contract?
