An airkick is just bad luck, that goal was more Murphy's fault for coming in the first place. The handball was awful though, cost us 2 points needlessly.

Anyway, no point getting on a kid who is still young enough to play for the U21s' back, we got a point, let's move on.

He did have a good game otherwise but they really were schoolboy errors, the first one more so. How can you miskick the ball as badly as that when you're a centre half?!

They were two shocking mistakes but he has been a different player this season. Brush it off and move to the next game stronger.

I'm not getting on his back, but J Clarke is no centre-half, too indecisive and too small.
Christie may be a better bet for his height.

Improved a lot but he is not a centre back. Cost us 2 goals. Need a big man to partner Webster.

Gutted but it was a pen. If he wasn't so short he wjdbr have to leap like that

Not a cb!

There's a good player in there somewhere but I don't know what is his best position. Not really attacking enough to be an effective right back, not tall enough to play centre half. You can see the quality he has in his touch and composure

First goal down to Murphy and Clarke the second he was just out muscled by Hanson which was always a concern. Forgetting the fact that they equalized so late that is not a bad point away at Bradford, difficult place to go ask Arsenal and the Vile from last season.

It wasn't that clear cut. Clarke is trying to get leverage and their big lump has bundled straight through him. He couldn't get his arms out of the way down to the challenge. Personally I think Phil Parkinson is a twat as well, trying to tell everyone how they should have won that.
Clarke was poor for the first goal but unlucky on the second. Not sure he's a centre back, when you look at the line up he is a bit of a weak link.

The penalty came about originally from Connor Thomas who for some reason kept the ball from going out with his heels which put Bradford in the position to deliver a deep cross into our box. To blame Jordon Clark is a bit harsh, the penalty was a joke decision by a pendentic official who seemed to see what he wanted to see

did Parkinson really say that. Fucking hell he was watching a different game to everyone else. Horrible hoofball of a team.

Not sure we need a big man (except against long ball merchants like bradford) I like the mix of the two centre halves but we have to remember he's still learning the role. Jordan Clarke was head and shoulders the best player against Walsall (regularly clearing up after Webster). One poor game doesn't mean we right him off. Also until today we had tightened up a lot in recent weeks.

Deserved the win today away against another team challenging. Keep it up lads

I agree we, we don't want two big lumps next to each other. What would be useful is to have a lump of a centre half on the bench who could come on in the last 10 mins of games like this to help us see it out.

Clarke cost us all 3 .... fresh air kick, lost his man for 2nd, silly handball for pen ... but he hasn't had a bad season ... hes got Webster out of the shit in a few games and vice-versa ... just a bad game at the office ... only consolation is we've got a point out of it and lets hope we can beat Tranmere next game.... unbeaten in 7 league games now ... PUSB!

Good shout. Especially against a team like Bradford

very key point. if thomas had of cleared that to touch, we would of had 3 points

As soon as Thomas had kept the ball in for no reason it seemed silly when letting it run out would waste sweet time. Goodman picked up on it immediately when he mentioned the naive'e of Coven'ree's Conor 'homas.

His best run of form in his whole career has been at centre back. Why move him now?

He had one of his worst games of the season today but it's just one game. Christie was also poor today and I don't see calls to drop him.

What! It was a clear handball decision!! The ref had absolutely no choice at all!

We've had clean sheets with Clarke at the back so hes proved he can do it. It was a bay day at the office for the lad but thats all. Yes he had a hand in all 3 of their goals but nows the time to stick by him as overall he is having a great start. I do feel we need another centre half in at the club though.

Exactly. With 30 seconds to go don't jump up in the penalty area with your hands in the air!

It was a blatant penalty and stupidity personified. I've supported Clarke and sympathise that he is out of position but there comes a time when you are no longer a promising youth player and are as good as you are likely to be. It's frustrating as with a better centre back we'd look a real threat. We looked vunerable when they attacked.

They also were nowhere near as bad as people say on here. Murphy saved a bullet header in the first half and the centre back missed a free header when we went 3-2 up.

We always looked like conceding all game.

I thought apart from the miss kick he had a reasonably good game. Watching him live I got to see more of his movement off the ball and I think he reads the game reasonably well, especially as it is not his oiginal position. The first goal was a bad mistake to make but Murphy didn't help. He should not have come for that ball and it did spin and kick off the ground slightly just as Clarke went to hit it, would've been better to try to volley it if he could've reached it but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I think he was a little unlucky for the pen, both players went up for the ball with their arms up and through the contact Clarke got pushed on to the ball. I'm more concerned as to why it wasn't Webster marking Hanson at that point, it took a while for Darby to pump the ball into the box and its not like it they hadn't been playing this tactic all game.

Reminds me a little of Trevor Peake,in the reading of the game being his strongest asset.

I didn't even watch game yesterday due to family commitments. But i have seen enough games away from suxfields to understand Sp's tactics . We play a high back line with attacking full backs who have pace. This squeezes the game into the opposing teams half. When the opposing team break or play a long ball its usually Webster who attacks the ball or player, with JC using pace to cover.
We can not play the highline if we play two webster style cb's.
So this is why the centre back pairing picks itself.
JC is learning and is going to make mistakes he is young but i have seen enough to know that he can time a tackle.
The mistakes in his game seem to be down to concentration which can easily be worked on.

Agreed, if we had another 'head the ball' defender, such as Aaron Martin, we would never have got anywhere near Wells yesterday. He's doing ok this season and I think he will continue to improve. It's one of the reasons that Wilson has had so much joy this year in this division, because he tends to be facing two big and somewhat slower centre backs.
