Dont lets be so arrogant that there are not things we can learn from the Sixfields experience. Yes it is a bit of a prefab but;
You are close to the pitch wherever you sit - makes you feel very involved in the action
It is out of town but there are still pubs/places to eat nearbt
parking is easy
The pitch is far superior to the Ricoh despite having twice as many games
its nicer for kids

Some of those things we can and should do something about when we return to the Ricoh.

Pitch should be easy enough if you pay to have it looked after and don't renege on your bills it will be ok.
Parking will naturally be easier with less than a 5th of the crowd, unfortunately.
Hopefully the railway will help
Needs more pub/food places
Not sure how that one will come about

I am not sure about the nicer for kids part. The Ricoh had that corner for kids with the football pitch on the floor etc.

Its one thing to suger coat a situation but Sixfields is one of the most boring bland football grounds in this country, it always has been and a terrible place to watch football. Makes the Ricoh look like and architectural design winner. And this isn't an anti-SISU KCIC thing, just that there really should be nothing for us to take from this stadium as a positive.

I always said i would give us one season a 6fields and thats it. 1 season is enough to sort the issues out at the Ricoh or completely put that to bed and show us the vision of the new stadium. There was never a novelty more a necessity.

Deluded if you dont think that is a factor in our poor attendances at the Ricoh - if you bury your head and say its all SISUs fault, the "green travel plan" to a stadium 3 miles away from town meant the Ricoh didnt stand a chance.

My annoyance at having to pay £80 to park for the Ricoh was more to do with the fact that at Highfield Road I parked for free and so it was a shock at the time to have to find another £80 on top of a season ticket or face a very long walk from outside the exclusion zone.

personally i didnt mind the 'walk up' at HR or the Ricoh, few bevvies at the Devon, taxi to Foleshill rd, few at the wheatsheaf (if we are not too late) then walk through tezzers.
Prefere that than 35 miles but again we dont have that choice at the present.

I just parked in Tescos when going to the Ricoh.

They had a few seasons of the security staff checking numberplates, but eventually gave up, anyway if they were still checking when I wanted to go home then I would make sure I'd bought stuff costing £25 at Tescos|M&S etc., anything I didn't want or need I could take back next match. in fact I got into the habit of w/e shopping at Tesco's b4 the game, so they won on that deal too & at least once I didn't take the shoes I'd bought back.

I did the Tesco thing a few times, and annoyingly the only time I was stopped or accused was when I'd actually only gone up to the shop. I didn't have the minimum purchase but asked them to prove I'd been there longer than 20 minutes, never mind two hours. They let me go, I assume the fire in my eyes intimidated them into submission.

What part of it is nicer for kids, my kids loved the atmosphere at the Ricoh when the naughty corner got singing they remember that more than any goals. Bobby Gould 1983 season the atmosphere in the West Terrace was what drew me in. The atmosphere at the ground is so important.

Well lets drive around for a bit using lots of FUEL to find parking 1 min from the ground in northampton and we will save £80 a year in car park fees at the ricoh. How big is your fuel bill getting to northampton£

I parked right outside the stadium for free ! But all that said big away support on a Saturday came by train and coach as well and everyone found a way to park/travel if they really wanted to at the Ricoh. It's not ideally positioned but it's hardly a mission impossible. HR was a bloody nightmare at times and I know many a motorist who came back to a vandalised car round that shithole.

Closer to the pitch... so just because its closer to the pitch you feel this is a better alternative to playing at Shitfields, rather than our home within Coventry?

The Ricoh has places to eat drink nearby, what about all the local businesses/ pubs, who's trade as dramatically declined since we was forced to move to Shitfields?

Parking is easy... Wow, I seem to remember regular buses going to and from various locations to the Ricoh and cheaper than fuel too.

Pitch far superior .. Now I know your chatting shite, Tell me the same once we reach January and the pitch is in a state.

Nicer for Kids... What because they do not get to go and enjoy watching Coventry City anymore, you no longer have groups of 14 15 16 year olds with their mates on a saturday getting dropped off and enjoying the match experience live, the future generation are missing out but oh no that is fine, because you can park easier now and be closer to the pitch.

There was loads of localised carparking for the Ricoh in and around the surrounding area, plus away fans would come via train or coaches ....

You did not have to pay 80quid to park your car, you could of found alternatives, 23 games on the bus from town at 3quid return would of saved you fuel + carparking charges.
