Have we witnessed the impact of Rioch's departure? (1 Viewer)

The man has looked after many of our young squad for many years and no doubt been a huge part in their lives, mentoring them etc

Our loss of form has certainly coincided with his sudden departure. Also rumours of it not being that amicable.

I genuinely think this could have upset the camp quite a bit....

Are you thinking like i am? Something has gone on in the camp or they have been told something by the bunch of chimps running the club?
confidence gone....no smoke without fire

More likely tbh a series of games with a young team, and no chance for anybody to be rested, all catching up with them.

No conspiracy, and this is more the form i expected at the start of the season, the early stuff was a bonus and anything that comes in the future is a bonus too. Not fair to expect kids to keep it up all the time.

Well... in football terms anyway.

There is a chance to recover somewhat after Saturday.. 2 weeks till the next game.

But I reckon the Xmas schedule will probably be difficult... 4 games in 10 days between 26th Dec & 4th Jan..

We have an FA cup tie I think so we don't have 2 weeks off

Oh yeah, so could be hard to recover form then with Clarke out for a while, I don't think there is sufficient strength in depth to give players much of a rest.

I think we've just seen the wheels come off - big style.

When I've seen games we haven't seemed to have much variation in our game. I think opposition managers have had long enough to see our 'young' players and they've been able to react. With a poor defence being off-set by two in form strikers all you need to do is control the firepower and you win the game because we always leak plenty of goals.

Two heavy defeats are a wake up call. If Rioch's departure has had a bearing I can see confidence and form slipping away badly.

The next few games will be a test for SP. Playing well he's had an easy time of it. We can now see what he's made of.

Mate we are absolutely dire at the back and have been all season, with no Clarkey up top this result was inevitable

Did it affect Murphy so badly that he has been at fault for a couple of the goals??

No, its utter drivel as a theory.

Our main forward is out injured, meaning Wilson is having to play a slightly different role so it compromises the 2 forward positions. Ouer midfield pairing has been disrupted slightly over the past couple of games due to suspension. Baker and Moussa are slightly out of sorts, Christie has struggled since coming back from injury.

Its what happens over a course of the season, especially to such a small squad (in terms of experience). I thought it might happen when Moussa spoke to the press about how the players have forgotten about relegation and are aimimg for the play offs, they need to get the mentality back from the start of the season and continue in that vein. Forget about the play offs, concentrate on each game, and the play offs will take care of themselves.

Just a note on Rioch....

I am pretty sure he would have left due to a couple of PREMIERSHIP clubs (Liverpool being the one that springs to mind) having a look at what he has done in the circumstances and wanting them to be a part of their set up. Considering all the shite that Rioch has dealt with in his time here I cant see him jumping ship cos of a falling out. In reality, he probably has gone as far as he can with us and needs to move up to the level he deserves - along with the pay!

I think you will see an announcement some time soon.

Good luck to him and thanks!
