This decision doesn't benefit the club, the fans or anybody
Except the promotion of self interest like Nikki Sinclair and Les Reid....chance for them to spout more bollocks from the sidelines.

Is it a bargaining tool? I don't think so personally but who knows?

I must admit from a CCFC perspective I don't see the benefit, aside from a spiritual victory for SISU over the council.

With the words spiritual victory I have now got the thought of watching PickTV early in the morning and seeing Colin Fry presenting the Sixth Sense trying to contact Joy.

None of this helps get our Club back to Coventry but it shouldn't hinder the new stadium as that is an entirely separate affair. So could we see some plans for the new stadium please Tim we need to be back in Coventry.

Sad but true.

I don't think Les Reid reporting what's gone on in the High Court is 'bollocks'.

He was just reporting (tweeting) what had happened in the JR.

However I do agree with your statement regarding Ms Sinclaire.

Are CCC a little bit scared? If they had nothing to hide surely they would be saying "bring the review on" not "please come and talk to us and make a deal". Didn't they try to get the JR dropped as part of a deal before too?

It's not based on what he has reported today

I thought that Ms Sinclaire had considerably less bollocks now than she used to have?

Why would CCC want to wait another year, potentially more whilst the club goes down the pan? Is it not more sensible for all concerned for parties to try an build bridges?

Think it is more about avoiding the legal costs Nick ....... AL's statement doesnt come over as scared she says she welcomes the examination in court. The only people winning out of this are the lawyers.

Makes sense for all sides to settle this without further legal costs surely?

He (Italia horse) has been moaning for weeks about leaving here as he's had enough. I wish he'd either go or change the record.

I will never change the record. You can blindly sing Sisus praises and follow wherever they take you, but I will not.
After this weekend I will not support the team at matches until Sisu go.
If they bring us back to the Ricoh I might reconsider.

This is not my Coventry City anymore it is Sisu's.

Nick if you have ever worked alongside councils or their departments, you will know they never want to go to court.

That's why bye laws don't get enforced. They may like issuing fixed penalties, but actually building cases and going to court.....no

Anyway they have always stated the door is open, so not a change in stance.

Negotiation is always better than going to war.

Fella, it's not about 'singing sisu's praises' or anything else like that. It's about you saying you are done, then not being done, then saying it again rinse and repeat.
I'm not bothered personally, I feel the same from time to time, but let's not pretend it's anything else.

I agree they might not want it, but if they are 100% confident won't SISU have to pay their costs?

You can be 100% right and still lose.

You must have a lot of faith in the British justice system to think that all verdicts are always right.

I would prefer to avoid the court room if it was me even if I knew I had been wrongly accused.

I think it's possible they're concerned about the mounting legal costs I mean it's not like they haven't been saying "talk to us" for some time. They did try and get the Judicial review dropped again probably because of the costs involved and it's not guaranteed that SISU would get told to pay the council costs is it. Someone made a good point a while ago about SISU not winning everything they take to court but making it so expensive that the other party gives up.

Question*: If ACL went out on Monday and got a loan from somewhere else and paid the Council back whatever was remaining of the loan, would it make the Judicial Review a bigger waste of time and money?

I have never 'blindly sung the praises' of SISU. I want them to have nothing to do with my/our club. However, they're the current incumbent at the moment and there isn't a lot we can do about it. Oh, yeah NOPM etc etc.

FYI, I've not been to Sixfields and never will.

I'm not blinkered like you and happen to think CCC/ACL are partly to blame for us playing away from the City of Coventry. You can carry on blaming one party all you like but until everything is in the open for us all to see I'll continue to have an open mind.

And you don't have the monopoly of being a 40+ year fan, I'm one too.

The court are interested in what happened originally so no, even it has been repaid I don't think it would matter from the court's point of view.

So why didn't they do that in the first place?

you're right, they have no need to worry. sh1tsu are great at paying bills, like...... stadium rent, repair bills at a local charities sports facilities. ;)

Wouldn't you want to clear your name though if you had done nothing wrong? I just think the way people were going on a couple of days ago saying that the judge will laugh at SISU and throw it out it just doesn't look as clear cut.

The Council could still be found guilty in that situation, but its difficult to see what form of punishment could be applied other than instructing the council to pay legal costs.

You don't have to go into a court room to clear your name.

By dropping the JR it would be an omission by sisu that they no longer think the council did wrong.

I guess so, but if on the other hand the Council suddenly budge and give SISU what they want whether it is discount, terms of sale blah blah, is that not slightly admitting guilt or worry? (That is if they were to give in or give cut terms etc).

If we're talking a major shift then yes I would agree with you.

If we're taking something small then I would say its more just because they couldn't be bothered with the hassle.

Yep, we just need to wait and see the outcome. It is just a shame they can't do things like this overnight :(
