Here is the idea ......

Everyone stage a complete boycott for 1 game, just 1 game! Surely that is acceptable?

Home game at sixfields against Oldham on 29/12/13. What are peoples thoughts?

Get everyone to spread the word. The trust, michael from KCIC and the Get cov back to the ricoh campaign.

I think people can sacrifice one game, and this could be a way for us to show that we want to be back in coventry!!

Try putting that on GMK. The majority of them go to sixfields.

Doubt they will act though, think they just want to support the team.

Personally I think a march through the City again on that day. You can get publicity then.

Look lets not turn this in to another thread like that, I am genuinely serious about this, I am trying to get the ball rolling!

Im not on GMK but I will sign up tomorrow and get the idea out there. I think its worth a shot. Surely people can miss 1 game?

I thought Geoff Boycott was going to be attending

If you want to be smart, pick a game that isn't likely to get a decent crowd anyway. Not one over the school holidays. I'd say Crawley (Jan 11) is a better shout, low away gate and just after the holiday period so less disposable cash about. Or Carlisle (Jan 23), midweek another low away crowd, just before payday.

Edit: Also, the Oldham game is already on general sale.

One of the most rational posters on their seems to have posted your idea.

Early signs are not encouraging.

I think another thing needed is to try and get across how it will help.

Well obviously:
1) It will show that Cov fans can act as one.
2) It obviously will not change Sisu's mind but it might force them to engage their brains instead of phoning lawyers
3) It would attract massive media interest and further embarrass the inept Football League
4) It will get the wider footballing community to be more and more sympathetic to, as the Guardian put it "how "modern football is run"
5) It will garner further respect for a just cause and the principle of community which Sisu have no respect for.

i think that might be the point shmmeee. the impact of it being one of the worst attended games at sixfields when it should be one of the biggest sixfields gates of the year.

I just think there's a limited amount of people who will see/join in so may as well claim any lower gate as a success, but you could be right.

Another problem with a boycott is free/away/press/season tickets. All of those would be counted, used or not. The club could simply mail out 1500 free tickets and call that the gate (of course, it'd only take someone to count at the game, but then it's just heresy).

Not that I don't agree with the idea, I just want it to be as successful as possible, so need to consider all angles.

carlisle will barely have anyone there being a thursday night in january so no point doing that but why not do oldham and crawley.

as for being on general sale, might as well stick every game of the season on general sale, lol

a no home support will never happen, and what will it achieve?

Crap crowds and little income is surley already sending the message loud and clear

If people want to go and support the shirts, let them, dont hate them!

Complete solidarity that the situation is wrong.
I have always respected the people who chose to support manager and team at Sixfields. For most it is that rather than supporting the regime.
We are talking one game. Sometimes you have to change your tactics when mounting a protest otherwise the media get bored.

Let's be honest. The official crowd won't drop below about 1000 City fans even if no one turned up.

These ridiculous "why dont we all do this??" campaigns do nothing but further enflame entrentched positions. There a quite a few people I know who would make a POINT of going if some self appointed fans forum decided we have to boycott.
It also smacks of yet another jealous personal dig at the sixfields attendees.

Doesn't matter about the gate at Sixfields, it is about getting into the national and even international media. A march on a "home" game day would be brilliant imo and if a Saturday even better. That would certainly get decent media coverage, remember SISU are self proclaimed a secretive organisation and don't like adverse publicity. Since that march last June this has been discussed at Westminster and a international newspaper, the Guardian has covered it and sisu and Sepalla won't like it. It will cost them business.

I attend games but am happy to do this BUT on the proviso that proper action is taken elsewhere like another proper protest through the town. If nothing is done and everyone just sits at home, this will not raise one eyebrow from anyone in the media or the club and have no impact.

It has to be organised to be effective or else there is no point.

To be honest I have already been disheartened by all of this. People saying yes are people who already dont go. I cant believe people wont skip 1 game just to make a point that we are ALL not happy about the northampton move. Sad times :(

"Jealous personal dig at the Sixfields attendees"?? why would people not going for moral reasons be jealous? You have really bought into the consumer society haven't you, a must have sort of guy it makes you feel better and you are one of them 'self appointed fans' or is the irony lost on you.
