This is hilarious how can you effectively design a stadium without the ground to plan it on, where are the roads into the site, facilities, drainage etc Yes just wack a picture up there, that will keep em quiet for a few months.

I dunno, to be fair if they're down to 2 sites as they say I imagine a fair bit can be done.

I'm not sure about the design now I've read into it a bit. I'd like to see proper plans.

If I'm being balanced, I like these bits:

- Stands close to the pitch
- Everything on one site
- The general design of the outside
- The idea of having more CCFC imagery on the ground

But I'm wary of:

- Weird seating design, meaning it'll look sparse with 12k seats in
- Being miles away from anything representing commercial footfall
- Being outside of the City of Coventry
- Severely reduced capacity
- Severely reduced other commercial opportunities (especially as this is the rationale for the entire project)
- The whole "fans zone" thing. Sounds awfully cringeworthy

The pictures look nice but it reminds me of all the times you'd see NEW DESIGNS FOR CITY CENTRE on the front of the Telegraph. Where are those continental-style canals and bistros now eh?

Pointless if the walkthrough is nothing like the finished article. More ammo for fans to fire at them then. 13 years down the line I'm still whinging about the retractable pitch.

At least Arena 2000 had a CG walkthrough.

Have read all 19 pages and feel totally frustrated by the negative response.

The sooner supporters realise a return to the Ricoh will never happen unless we (the owners or club) actual own it, the better.

We need to move-on and if that means creating a 'new home', then so be it!

Well that's confirmation then, clealy if they were bluffing they would make sure the Coventry Observer knew all about it.

Have you considered why there is a negative response? The response is honest and genuine - it just happens to be negative. The reasons are obvious you silly sausage.

Dave, the fact that you've counted 54 games where the Ricoh attendance has been higher than this proposed new ground - it says it all.
Total lack of ambition. It is fooling nobody.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse.

Martin Rogers - Who did the sketches does not know how much the club has to spend.

I think we just blew the entire stadium budget on those drawings.

You're right - its a lovely stadium on a lovely site with super transport links and positive feedback from the local planning authority. It's been clearly financed with a business model that can demonstrate income streams 365 days a year and is sized for the likely attendance for a successful team.

Well nearly anyway.

I still want a giant Jaguar on the roof.

Of course what applies to CG walkthroughs applies to artists impressions.

Make you're mind up you either want to own the Ricoh or you want to "move on" which one is it?
If its the Ricoh then I can buy my season ticket if its the "new ground" then I can move on.

I can exclusively reveal that the intention was to also display a model of the stadium but the institution tasked with supplying the model failed to deliver it on time.
There was an early setback when the institution refused to use the toothpicks amassed by Tim and friends as they don't allow their "workers" to handle sharp objects.
The alternative use of lollipop sticks led to the next delay: no account had been taken of the seasonality of sales. However, a deal with Walls secured a plentiful supply although the model will be called The Solero Stadium as the price of their assistance.
Expect the model to be revealed in the next 3-4 months with the same degree of commitment and fervour as today's announcement.

Sorry you've lost me I thought moving on meant that we'd left the Ricoh for good? That ship had sailed, the eagles had become a turkey etc.

It has fantastic transport links! I have checked every timetable of every bus of every bus company in Coventry and Warwickshire and am convinced that there will be a bus that will get me there somehow.

It might possibly not run at weekends though.

The other thought that occurs to me here is that the club cannot saying where the new stadium will be exactly, as it is of such a lightweight structure that with carrying winds it could move a few miles here and there for every home game.

What better than a flexible stadium that is also very portable. At the end of games it can also be flat packed and stored quite easily in a Vauxhall Zafira ready for the following match.

Didn't Garlick say she'd seen the plans yet this morning Labovitch said there were no plans and they would be shown to fans as soon as they were ready?

Who's the builder that's gonna risk building it with the wankers we have in charge its a total Myth you'll be in court to get your money back

If you build it. people will come :thinking about:

Who are they deluding? If they build it. will the builder get paid? If they get the land. will the neighbours roll over and not object?

Lots of unanswered questions again.
