Yes, it's not fact that people going to sixfields are killing the club is it? Its not fact that I'd nobody went the club would be straight back yet people still make statements like it is all the time.
There is also the risk that the people who don't go are killing the club by not giving any money but most of them want to run off and setup a pub team now haskell and his fans on the board promise has fizzled out.
No, it's not fact, Nick.
What is a fact is that about 1,200 - 1,600 approx are going to Sixfields every home game. Sisu obviously want this to increase and while some people DO go there is always the chance that attendances could rise if we started doing really, really well. As it stands Sisu always have the hope that fans may well come back and that attendances will increase.
If no-one went at all then this would show in fact that things were going in completely the wrong direction for the owners. At the mo they might well feel that City fans will come back in time and will go to any new stadium once it is built. If no-one went to home games this season at Sixfields then that blows that whole theory out of the water and would leave the owners in grave doubts whether fans would attend any new stadium.
For me if no-one went it kind of forces Sisu's hand. It all shows the power at the end of the day is with the fans. No fans = no club. I cannot think of a clearer statement of City fans not backing the move to Sixfields than people just not turning up at all.
While a few go there is always the hope that in time the crowds will slowly increase and fans will come back. This
has to be Sisu's hope.
If I was Sisu I wouldn't go round slating ACL and CCC, I would be trying to get the fans onboard and be encouraging them to lobby their local MP's and put pressure on ACL and CCC to come to some agreement.
At the end of the day, the best scenario for Sisu is of the fans being onboard.
