He looked, nervy on pass backs, and he looks overall, VERY nervy...
I don't think he is up to scratch
I am only hopping that he is saving it for the season...

least of our worries

He could keep a clean sheet every game and we would still only get 1 point !

compared to Westwood anyone is going to be a step down.

i think we've taken our goalkeeper situation for granted a bit recently, the standard of GKs in this league is not good.

Oh I think it is, there's many good keepers in the league...

Looked like a good championship keeper to me, he is no Westwood which is obvious as he is now in the prem but as far as I'm concerned he is a decent GK for us.

Have to agree Murphy is the last of our worries, solid keeper. :)

Didn't make a single save today, and I thought his positioning on the first was very suspect. He was communicative, and quick off his line when required, confident even to take a gamble with a couple, but he didn't even get near to the three goals. The cross for the second could have been the goalkeeper's territory. Still, I don't think there's any question that he's a capable goalkeeper, and he won plenty of admirers during his spell at Scunthorpe, but we can't expect for him to be instantly comparable to Westwood. It took us a lot of Inces, Arphexads, and Debecs before we found a Westwood, and even Westwood's first couple of games for us were shaky at points. He'll grow into the side, I think.

As I have posed here before; many Scunny fans were not upset at his leaving.....make of that what you will

I wasnt keen when we were continuously linked with him, however, now he's here, im prepared to give him a chance to prove himself!

I agree he is no Westwood. He does look dodgy at crosses, but compared to Dunn, he looks pretty confident, vocal, and regarding his kicking under pressure, he concentrates twice as much as Dunn, and his kicks usually stay in play (unlike Dunn).

First time in front of the home fans as Westwood's replacement. Of course he'll be nervous!!!! He's got to try and prove he's good enough to replace arguably the best keeper from the Championship last season. I wouldn't worry, he was probably just nervy trying to impress us.

I'll be the first to admit I wanted us to get Cammy Bell over Murphy, but he's here now, he's a decent keeper and I'm confident the nerves will settle over the coming weeks.

He's vocal, I agree but he looked soo nervous every pass back today

So would I the amount of times he got passed the ball from our ATTACKS!! At one point, he recieved the ball from one of our corners, without Norwich even touching the ball. Bet there arent many teams that could that :D Although, I think most of the crowd got nervous with Murphy in that move after seeing Hussey nearly do a Matt Mills-esque pass back resulting in an own goal :D

Murphy is very vocal though, and his language is not always clean. What will this do to our family friendly image??? ;)

The way I see it, the same scout that picked up on Westwood also picked up on Murphy so there has to be something there. It's from Saturday onwards where the work really starts, so it's a clean slate until he either impresses or disappoints.

But many scunny fans were sad to see him go. Make of that what you will. But, what the hell, let's be negative. Idiots

With our new strikers and midfielders soon to be brought in our goalkeeping position will be of no concern as the ball will be constantly up the other end of the pitch

I thought he was a bit rubbish before we signed him, but hope he proves me wrong. And I never feel confident signing players from relegated sides. Wheras we might be about to find out that, actually, Westwood was keeping in the division every season. You don't know what you've got until it's gone.
