Just spent 30 minutes trying to get onto their Forum pages. Only wanted a different view on the Norwich game from GMK posters. Gave up in the end. Sticking to the fast, speedy Sky Blues Talk from now on !

Not an expert but why is it so different, Sky Blue Talk relitively new is easy and fast and the long established GMK is useless and it always seems to be worse at the weekend ?

Shame really I like both, but GMK is really creaking i was my favorite fans site for years, good comment, good banter yeah a shame. but this site is reliable fast etc

It's always crashing and it's been overrun by know-it-all tossers. Apart from that it's great.

Did the same as VOR. If it's crashed after a pre season friendly then not a lot of hope for it next week!

they have spoken to one or two new servers, but will not give in to their wage demands..
They are hoping to have something in place in time for the new season
They urge fans to get behind the site
The backers have agreed to put funds in to get them through the season
Pre season is not about peformance of the site, its about getting ready for the new season
They were approached by Sky Blues Talk for help but it wasnt on headed note paper
They are concerntrating on the unveiling of the "smiles" statue in the coming weeks outside their office

It has got markedly worse since Sky Blue Talk started up, coincidentally.
Should be running quicker really, as the permanently wrong know nothing tossers that used to over-run the board have disappeared.

A crying shame, as in it's prime, not only was it - in my opinion - the best Coventry City forum on the internet, but it was also regarded by fans of many other clubs as being a grand site. It's mix of banter, humour and footballing knowledge was brilliant. I haven't seen much to rival it elsewhere.
Whilst I have every sympathy with the current moderators, their calls for patience whilst things get sorted have gone on for far too long to be realistic; and it's sadly in the interim suffered death by a thousand cuts.
I would rather repeatedly slam my knob in the fridge door than try and glean any response from that site on any given matchday...

Used to love it but left due to being consistently shouted down by a Leicester supporter and know-it-all pessimistic knobheads posing as Coventry City supporters.
Have kept an eye on it ever since and it's really gone downhill.
SkyBluesTalk is the way forward. Well moderated and a lot more pro-CCFC. :claping hands: (Just hope certain posters don't find their way onto this board)...

I posted on GMK regularly, but it is screwed, just tried to open the forum and 1min later it says "Loading....", sorry but it is unfit for purpose.

SBT has been live for 3 or 4 years so it was about way before any issues started! Just pointing that out before people start accusing me of things again
This place uses mainstream forum software and is on decent uk hosting so is solid as a rock!
GMK uses buggy software and is hosted with cheap value hosting that is why it is slow, nothing to do with users!
I like GMK and browse a lot as it is good to see opinions, the knobs who keep changing their username or have 10 logins ruin it though
Lets not turn this into gmk bashing though, we are all city fans

Smiles used his head as server when he ran GMK. Nothing could knock that baby out.

Used to use it untill all the rubbish happened about six months ago, couldn't be bothered after that. Its not even in my bookmarks anymore. I did visit it once the other week, found the server took half an hour to load and the first thing i looked at people were swearing at each other.

Here's a novel idea. Midweek when it really is so important and there's no games on at all and when nothing is happening and all is totally quiet, let's have it up and running okay. Then, when it's not so crucial at all and there are only City games being played let's have the whole thing go down like a lead balloon. After all, who wants to post with an up and coming game to be played? :thinking about:

Bugger about your job Otis, as for GMK, I posted on 2 threads this morning, and then it stopped working. I like Knowl, however he cant choose decent admin to save his life, somebody had started a thread complaining it was down again and S Dunne posted a picture in what I suppose he thought was a witty fashion. Poor form once again from then.
Thing is though people have been very patient and now start asking questions and get told to shut up... not exactly calming the situation.
That's what I was thinking... Maybe he cant put up enough animated pics and it's starting to get to him
