I actually thought Coleman was a worse manager than Thorn. Coleman had the players and money to get us back to the prem but fucked it up.
Thorn had the shit players and had to deal with Sisu withdrawing funds.
Im not a Thorn fan but felt at the time he was hard done by.

Coleman's squad wasn't that good and we were only averagely financed. He should have done better than scraping a relegation battle.

And? Lots of league teams have reached the quarters or semis of a the FA cup. League Two, Bradford reached the League Cup final last season. And millwall reached the final a couple of years ago.

A championship team only needs to win 3 games to get to the semi and 2 of those were against lower league opposition - kidderminster and Torquay, so we only played 1 decent side (Blackburn) before Chelsea.

The league shows you how good your players and manager, and although we underachieved the squad wasn't that good, definitely not good enough to push for promotion.

That's a very sensible post - I wish many more realised the same.

I knew with him in charge we were done for. I've never admitted this bit I actually wanted us to lose games I watched as I new he had to be sacked to have a chance to survive. Fans had to turn against him - they never did. I think there was a coupe of games won around Christmas and I remember cursing and wishing we'd lost.
