Wow not even a hundred years then, can't wait to celebrate acentury of which that part of land will be classed as Coventry from 2032.

It has to have been within the city for 100 years for it to be in Coventry then?

Here's me born out in the sticks of Walsgrave thinking myself to be a proud Coventian yet you have now proven I am not from Coventry at all as Walsgrave hasn't been in Coventry for longer than 100 years.

Lets think of it this way instead of comparing yourself, if your my dads age (57), your father is likely to be 35+ (92 years in total), some older generations still believe that part of Coventry isn't Coventry, that is what many people have told me this season.

More over there is no need to build a new stadium. It is pure stupidity to think that SISU can or would build a stadium anywhere.

Whether you believe is highly irrelevant when asked would you attend.

If it was Ryton on that big load of land opposite the training ground waiting for a stadium to be built ( joke ) i would go

For me anywhere in the club support catchment area would be OK like Leamington, Warwick or Rugby dont forget there are many supporters from these areas and always have been. The problem with Northampton apart from it not being in or around Cov is that they already have a team!

The Ricoh is as Far from the godiva statue as is Ryton ( well almost !)

What a pathetic view to take.

The club is called Coventry city, not coventryrugbyleamingtoncity ffs.

My view is its either in Coventry or its not.

How can some parts of the city be more Coventry than others? Its like saying London is more England than Newcastle.

I was wrong about 1932 anyway. Half of that area was 1899, the other half was 1928. http://www.historiccoventry.co.uk/covmaps/boundary.php

It is your view and that is fantastic, however there are some people off the realms of this forum that believe differently..

That was my point.

Wouldn't it be great if the owners found out what their potential customers wanted and tried to deliver their wishes..

How comes the likes of torchy and co never like correct posts like this?

Because he wouldn't go to any game whoever owns the club.

It's dead easy really, and there is a clue in the name.

If it's outside Coventry it's not Coventry City. Think I will start going to Morecambe's games and singing
Play up SKY BLUES and in our Coventry Homes.

Any Club playing as Coventry City must play within Coventry's borders else I and many others will not be watching.

Surely if it has "Coventry" as the City bit of it's address it's in Coventry, otherwise it's not. No?

What constitutes 'in Coventry' and "close to Coventry" ..

Well FYI this is 3 miles from city centre, site of Ricoh Arena is marked with a blue X

This link below allows you to click through to a detailed overlay for each ward in the City (can't find one for the whole city annoyingly)
http://www.coventry.gov.uk/info/2000634/wards
for example here is Holbrooks ward with ward boundary superimposed on google map
http://www.coventry.gov.uk/info/2000641/holbrook_ward

I was surprised to discover parts of Longford & Henley wards are lie north of the M6 (though the bulk of them is S of M6)

Wether you believe it doesn't exist or not is irrelevant as their is no stadium!!!

If they build a stadium then it is prudent to ask which fans will be attending as the ground will not be a fantasy.

I should imagine that someone from Sisu follows this forum.
And for that reason alone questions like this one are well worth discussing. Sisu were told at the forums the majority of fans would not travel to Sixfields. Did they listen no !
Hopefully they are listening now that if they try to build a stadium outside Coventry they are wasting their time !!
More importantly they will be wasting ccfc money crippling us with more debt.
Also you will make it impossible for to sell ccfc because no one will want to purchase a lego stadium outside Coventry when they could move the team to the Ricoh.
It just does not make economic sense !!!!!!

Firstly Sisu have no intention of building a new stadium, this is not what hedge funds do. Secondly, they know they have lost the support of 90% of the fan base and they will not get this back by moving the team away from Coventry.

Let's imagine that I am wrong and they build a stadium, why can't it be within the Coventry boundaries. The council would have to support it or they risk upsetting the 90% of fans that stay away and actually vote them in and pay their taxes to this council.

They can believe what they like but they are wrong. It is in Coventry.

According to about 100 posters on a fans forum what about the other 299,990 residents of Coventry, perhaps most but I would assume not all.

For me (and I can't see the poll on my phone) the location will need to be roughly the same cost to get to as the Ricoh. The taxi fare to the Ricoh was a little over £10, but the Arena Tesco is also on bus routes. So if it's reachable by bus that's as good for me - although obviously it's only a very few matches I can potentially get to. So for me it's a cost thing as rather than the actual definite location. Would be nice to go back to the Ricoh but Sisu clearly have no intentions of doing that at the moment.

I voted other, as in whats the point of answering until I know we will never return to the Ricoh, and until a new stadium is actually built rather than exist in SISU's make believe world.

Becasue wether people are willinfg to attend a new stadium will affect SISUs decisions on building that stadium, so it is very relevant. If it turned out virtualy no-one would attend the new stadium would be a non-starter.

3 pages so far and yet no one has been able to answer why a new ground needs to be outside the city?

That wasn't the idea of this poll. No-one said it has to be, it is just SISU who have said they will build it outside the Coventry boundary because they refuse to deal with CCC.
