Wells is at the other end of his career and can probably stay at a club for more than one season at a time.

Still a shockingly low figure mind. Who the fuck are we going to get in for that money?
we don't spend money, could the second coming of the big tree.

True, but at 28 Leons at his peak.

Its about right ,Le fondre ,Madden similar record ,league 3.

Other have gone for more like wells and the lad that went to Blackburn, Southampton paid £1m for Barnard and £1.5m for lambert.

Hardly does the same job either in terms of goal scoring, or the job he does for the team.

Works harder and has a decent record at this level.

No surprise with this lad, he's never stayed anywhere for that long. Shame though as it will blow apart our season. As others have said though with the amateurs that are tearing the club and fans apart at board level it was only a matter of time before the better players started getting their heads turned !

Like every city fan reading this is gutting me but how can you blame him? Someone referred to our club as 'car crash' and that hit the nail on the head. We love cov, none of the players love cov like we do and if you put that raw emotion we have to one side what's at cov for a player in the form he is in and at the stage of a career Leon is in? Threadbare squad around him, playing at a crappy stadium 30 odd miles away, the probable knowledge that the Christies and Wilson's will be sold around him if the monies right....... If it's true then it's a thank you for the graft and goals Leon and good luck. PUSB

Been on the cards for ages and I give the club credit for announcing he has put a transfer request in as it could create an auction and spark a bit of a bidding war and we can dictate the price, his consistent goal scoring record should drive the price up. Bit of a test for the wonderful Waggott to procure a good deal.

You're probably right.

I'm still pissed off. It's like last season all over again. Just waiting for Pressley to leave and Otium to go into admin.

I doubt Pressley will leave. The owners can't be blamed if this turns out to be true..

On this guys page it says that NOT the opinion of Sky sports. This guy is a freelance. He was not at the gane so how does he know what is happening at the club? My Dad was at the game and was talking to Oggy who said Clarke injuried himself on Friday. He said because City have one or two people ready to sign they don't want to risk anyone in these wet conditions. Maybe Oggy is just a liar, or this guy?

Out of curiosity Id love to see how many players who are L1 top scorer at New Year stay at their club. Seems to be a nailed on transfer each season.

Personally, I think he's doing what Leon does. 13 clubs at 28 says it all to me, Hopefully, he'll stay.

Writing was on the wall on Friday

With the poor Sixfields crowds & therefore low finance the club is in no position to resist transfer of best players

Pressely & Waggot now have to replace Clarke, in fact they probably need 2 new strikers, even if one is a 3 month loan to cover Wilsons injury.

They say that no one player is greater than the team BUT with Callum out long term maybe on this occasion that is not correct.

lets see who will be attracted to this car crash of a club, since we've moved to northants the permanent signings have been webster, Manset, urqhart (rangers reserve) the dutch guy. Hardly an inspirational list.

He has form for being 'unhappy' and showing a lack of commitment. I hope SSN have it wrong!

You believe he's shown a 'lack of commitment' at this club? What utter crap. He's been superb for us ever since he signed. Fully committed and appearing to enjoy his partnership with CW this season. But there must come a point when you review where you're going, what you have to offer and whether the grass is greener elsewhere. And it definitely IS. It's a short career and he's absolutely right to recognise that he will have a brighter future at somewhere like Wolves.

Thanks Leon and good luck I say.

Your move SISU.

Whether it is anything to add, his lethargic attitude in interviews maybe a sign.
