I think this is what has been holding up the Seaborne deal, hopefully it'll go through quickly now.

From the offal: http://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/article/...clearance-football-league-140114-1293418.aspx

Free to make transfers, but subject to some financial conditions.

Coventry City handed clearance to operate in the transfer market following meeting with the Football League
Following a meeting with The Football League, Coventry City Football Club have now been given clearance to operate in the transfer market, subject to certain on-going conditions.

It means the Sky Blues are now able to sign players again without having to adhere to a one-in, one-out policy. However, the club must still demonstrate it has the finances to meet any new player’s liabilities as a condition set by The Football League.

Coventry City’s development director Steve Waggott said: “Myself, Steven Pressley and Neil MacFarlane are delighted to be able to resume a more normal service with regard to the future transfer of players.

“We have prudently cut the cost of our first team squad over the last few months, while maintaining our competitiveness in League One.

“Like all clubs, we still have to fulfil the Salary Cost Management criteria and operate under The Football League's rules and regulations, but to be able to plan in a more normal operational manner is great news, with just the League’s usual conditions to meet because of the recent exit from administration.

“A huge thanks must go to the owner for injecting the required funding to allow us to move into this stronger position.”

“A huge thanks must go to the owner for injecting the required funding to allow us to move into this stronger position.”

So money is being invested in then as the Football League had to approve this, how much 'required funding' are the owners going to make into the Club before they see that the Ricoh is the only way forward?

I think they know that the RICOH is the only route forward. What they are doing is trying to get it for very little.

Well according to Tim Fisher the Ricoh is Plan B, maybe should he stop saying "She Said" this and the other and get on with purchasing the Ricoh instead of building a new ground.n

Would be good if they could just clarify exactly what they have done in that respect. Only details so far are that ARVO have lent Otium £9.1m (a big chunk of which carries interest)and that Otium have issued £500k in shares of some description.

I would think that with the FA cup run the finances have improved in terms of salary protocol( FFP) plus if they sell on Clarke & Christie then we would be within that the limits I would guess.

We have got rid of nearly all the high earners and reliant on cheaper players including a lot of youngsters, some of which will not be covered by the salary cap rules

what the rules say

All player wages are included in the calculation. This covers basic wage, bonuses, appearances and any other add-ons. The calculation also includes PAYE, medical costs, cars and travel and also agent payments. Basically the full cost of a player is included. Players included are all contract players (full contract, non-contract, multiplicity etc.) and loan players. Players loaned out are deducted for the period of the loan. Players not included are youth players on a professional contract (i.e. players that have been in the club’s YD scheme and have been given a pro contract. They must be 20 years of age or under at the start of the season to be discounted from the SCMP calculation).

That said it is good that they are able to trade players more normally

Fair play ... it is good news, but if we can't keep the good ones and only add in some more at the bottom with lesser quality, the overall effect is still a poor one.

Slightly embarrassing that we are blowing the fan fare, because the club have finally got back to where it should always be if not mis managed. Really enjoyed the line at the bottom that we should thank the owner for that.

i think i speak for everyone when i say THANK YOU SISU

Well you think wrong because you certainly don't speak for me.

I thank SISU for nothing. They are the worst thing to ever happen to this club.

Is it right that 6 players have refused to join Coventry City and if so isn't that a sad enditement of what's happening with our club.

No we should be grateful to them...all the millions they've 'invested'...the progress we've made under them

I have heard nothing like that.
It would not shock me. Many disagree with this.
However I completely believe that with comparable wages if CCFC were at the Ricoh they would have an advantage over other teams in this league when attempting to sign players, at the moment I think we have not only lost the advantage but took a step in the other direction.

Yeah, you're right. I'm gutted that we won't be seeing Messi, Ronaldo, Bale, Ribery, Puyol or Casillas in our beloved CCFC colours.

Hey ho....
