Nowhere near worth a million but fair play if that is the situation!

To be fair, if he gets us promotion he's worth £5m.

The only problem is ....
Will he play????!

If he wants a run out against Arsenal to showcase his potential to the wide audience I would suggest he would be mad not to...

So just because he wants out we should let him go for "exactly" what he is worth... hell no and good on the club for once...

Either he plays or he doesn't get paid, maybe even fined. If he refuses to play then he needs hitting with the maximum fine we can give him, each week he fails to play. We haven't said he can't leave, we've given in to his request but demanded we get a fair price. But if he thinks he is 'too good' for this team or even this league, then he has to expect someone to pay for that quality. People say he can be replaced BUT regular goals are not that easy to come by

If he stays he will have to play won't he? Surely sp could say to him, listen Leon, play till the end of the season, score us another 15 goals and then you'll get your big pay day and we won't stand in your way?

We had loads of flak for DIon Dublin last week, a better player, did far more for the club than Clarke over a longer period.

Clarke gets a groin strain on the eve of him putting in a transfer request at a time when he was the only recognised striker at the club.

Sell him.

Have to disagree with you on this one Nick, he's definitely worth between 1 and 2 million given his importance to us and his goals to game ratio since his arrival, he's been free scoring.

Good to see that Scrotium haven't taken their usual tact of accepting the 1st bid that comes their way. Shame the same couldn't be said for the likes of Turner. I'm sure they are desperate for the money and will cave in the near future. It's going to be very difficult to replace his goals for the peanuts Peessley will be given... And with the 2nd worst defensive record in the league and no Wilson until March, one would be forgiven for having a pessimistic outlook for the rest of the season :(

His agent knew we would turn down any sensible offers so probably advised him to put in a transfer request to push the issue. Bad luck sir its seemed to have backfired on you.

Sky Bet have suspended betting on Leon Clarke’s future after he was continually backed as short as 1/6 for a move to Wolves. The Coventry striker was even-money to make the move this morning but is now expected to complete a switch in the near future. Claim your free bet here.

They are on the verge of automatic promotion.

They want to sign the leagues top scorer in their eyes to guarantee it.

He is proven at this level

It is worth 5 million to them and potentially cost us 5 million unless we get to reinvest.

a million is the minimum

500k plus a good player swap.

I guess we have gone back asking for their bid plus the payer swap.

Wish clubs did not come knocking at our door assuming we are desperate for their pot to piss in.

The deal is off unless we lower our demands? Got that the wrong way around surely we are not making any demands we are merely telling them what it will take for them to take him away from us.

It will be interesting to see if nothing happens coming towards the end of the transfer window, wonder if we will lower our asking price

Good, hardball!

Well today is officially a bizarre day.

In 2 seperate threads, I have agreed with Nick and Torch !!

Wolves, Pay up or leave us alone. Why on earth should we "lower our demands".

Our demands are "we dont want to sell and want you to jog on "

I heard it may be subject to getting a loanee in return. Wolves have got loads of strikers haven't they?

A case of needing to at the time though. Wouldn't rule it out, just think he'd prefer permanent. Believe he has stated this publicly previously.

Yep, he has. I think most managers would prefer perms, but as you say, needs must

fair play to the club for not accepting any old bid, we cannot get screwed particularly from a team in the same division
