Perhaps the good gal Nikki Sinclair will ride out of the sunset and sort it out with her mediation skills?

Was he on the show just now?

Did he mean another party will make a bid to start a bidding war and for sisu to actually come up with an offer?

SISU knew all along the ricoh wasn't for sale as this is 100% why they didn't put in a bid for it. Crafty gits. They want as cheap as possible lease/rental deal and then move back after 1 year in time for 14/15 season in my opinion. Sixfields was just a stop gap to fulfil their fixtures and get a better lease/rental deal.

I hope your right.

Bit of a risk though ......... the future of the club and loss of fanbase.

Now this may all seem a little simplistic here, but the object of the game at the end of the day for Sisu is to make money and bugger off.

If we have a successful team on the pitch at the Ricoh there would regularly be crowds of 20,000+ and this combined with a low rent would mean we would make money.

Then they could bugger off.

I agree with all the comments on here from real sky blues fans. They can't sell the freehold due to 40 year contracts still to run and all of the above. Plus makes no sense as sisu wouldn't offer a real amount and apparently according to AL sisu knew this all along and I agree with her that sisu knew Ricoh wasn't for sale ever.

Sisu have finally been caught out and now have to either eat humble pie as the user above mentions or build their stadium and I'm 100% this won't happen. No financial sense at all as we all know.

ML sounded like a stumbling little kid this morning as I listened live. Kept going on about the Ricoh and then more talk about the Ricoh. What a loser. I thought the ship has sailed and we have moved on. Yes ok ML it's the 15th jan and you're still on about the Ricoh. Pathetic cretin
Just astonished by this organisation.....

As well as being ethically bereft, it would appear the majority-certainly those that do their PR-are a load of bungling incompetents.

Absolutely nothing, but unfortunately some people cannot see the wood for the trees.

I would really, really like to see an answer to this - someone please give it to me.

It appears to me the best compromise situation would be for CCFC to have a long lease, with access to all revenues - by perhaps buying/merging with ACL to unite incomes; and CCC playing a role in a settled negotiation with Compass for the balance of the catering contract. With the club united with the incomes of ACL and Compass; what's the necessity for a new stadium, or the freehold at the Ricoh?

Someone tell me please......

Don't they only employ about 15 people?

It's basically one man and his dog as far as I can tell.

I tell you what, that question is a great tool to get pro-Sisu posters out of a thread.

I think I'm up to 5 separate people I've asked directly for an explanation and they're never to be seen again!

Sisu are only after one thing, The ACL contract of running the stadium, thats the only thing that makes any money, and they tried to stress them so they could get it on the cheap, now thats backfired so they try to blackmail CCC by taking CCFC away, but now the council have called their bluff . Over to you SISU build your stadium but they wont , they are hoping the JR will go their way so they can aquire ACL still, but i hope if they do win ( doubtful ) that ACL sell to someone else

isn't this the deal they walked away from 18 months ago?

no they walked away from buying the Higgs half of the stadium not who runs it

Sorry you've got that wrong. Higgs own 50% of ACL, the management company. The council own the stadium 100%.

Tim Fisher at the Shareholders meeting made it quite clear that SISU/Otium want total control of the Ricoh Arena. They want the freehold and he made it crystal clear he would expect that the Council get rid of ACL, and any other contracts that were ongoing. For the Council to sell the unencumbered freehold would probably costs the council a huge sum of money in compensation.

How does he expect the Council to "get rid of" ACL though? Surely the Higgs have a say as equal partners. Or does he expect the Higgs to take the loss as well?

It just strikes me that Fisher and Joy ask for things they know are impossible in an attempt to put pressure on the Council.

They should just stop fucking about, take a return on reduced rent as a win and go about negotiating for the revenues.

tens of millions, if it's even possible (and it probably isn't), they couldn't ask for anything more ridiculous.

so sisu it was plan b ricoh and now its dead in the water there should be no more talk of the ricoh?

How does he expect the Council to "get rid of" ACL though?

Well first off ACL would need to negociate out of all the agreements with Compass, casino, hotel etc (although I'm not clear why if you were taking over you would want to kick out all the businesses that make you money). That will more than likely cost a significant amount. The council would then need to negociate early termination of the lease which would involve repayment to ACL as they have paid all the lease up front. They would also have to work out what to do with the loan.

At that point you have the Ricoh sitting completely empty. No events planned as ACL will have cancelled them all, no one running the casino, no one running the hotel. The council can then sell the whole lot. I wonder if those contracts being terminated would bring the price down as part of the valuation would be on future income, would zero guarateed income that must impact the price.

The much easier way is for SISU to buy ACL and then, if they wish, attempt to renegociate any existing contracts. Of course that would mean they have to pay market value and pay the compensation themselves.

Exactly. Makes me wonder why they didn't exercise the right to buy the half share of Acl . Get the half . Work on an equal footing with Ccc and then aquire the rest from within. .

But it's an unethical hedge fund we are talking about. Smash, hack , destroy. Then try and pick up what's left for next to nothing so some rich twat in the Caymons can have another yacht.

was Labovich questioned at all about the new ground?

Yes at the very start and replied "so about the ricoh" he answered nothing about the subject and continually went on about "plan B" the ricoh. Its clear now CCC wont sell the freehold, end of conversation.

It made me laugh as he was asked about the 2 sites he quoted as acquiring and he almost choked when asked. Then went on about the ricoh again lol what a dick
