Coventry and Coventry Charity vs. Sisu hedge fund

I know which side I am on. Some people are just lost.

To be honest I only really care about the football club. Don't particularly like the Higgs Centre (because of the people that run it, NOT own it). Don't really care about the council. I'd rather try to understand the situation and what has happened to judge.

Of course I am, as I have stated many times on this thread. Is this another case of people not reading? In this thread I have literally just been trying to make sense of what has happened without the legal jargon but I must have mistakenly put things in posts that only you can see.

Would you care to tell us why you think SISU deserve to be handed £100k by a charity that was set up to help needy children not greedy hedgefunds?

This is beyond a CCC/ACL/Higgs/SISU discussion, this transgresses more each week into a battle against an ordinary working mans City in the Midlands against a load of foreign owned greedy capitalist cunts from London !

The thing is GPE you're happy to say "Yes it's fine Higgs are sueing Sisu" yet the moment it's countered, you're all up in arms about it, plus we don't even know if the charges Sisu are supposedly liable to pay were signed on, verbal agreement, handshake..

council should neve rhave bailed them out

reap what you sow?

i think our only hope is sisu smash acl and ccc and get the ricoh, any chance of a good will handshake has gone.

Sadly I agree, I think I saw it in the Paul Fletcher thread yesterday the Ricoh was in construction and cost a dream that Coventry City Football Club could never afford, all down to an owner more than he could afford.

Clinically schizophrenic...........you must be, you change your mind about the whole shebang every other day. Who are you today and who will you be tomorrow !!?? FFS

not schizophrenic jsut cant see that both sides are to blame.

am i happy sisu are suing a charity? of course not. do i think sisu are slimeballs? yeh

but have council caused this shit too? definitely and they should take blame for this as sisu are just trying to get justice in this case.

First against the wall probably. Though with his constant outrage it'll need to be the great wall of China so he can line the rest of us up to.

I am bothered about the Club but not about the Council does that make me just as bad?

Sorry that's revisionist bollocks.

Hindsight is 20/20 but who at the time actually had a problem with it? Fucking no-one. Local media, the residents, CCFC, fans, all of us wanted it by a massive majority.

Of course we couldn't afford it once relegated and once ITV Digital went bust an once McGinnity pawned off the revenue streams. But that was all after the fact.

Would you care to tell me where I said that?

Wasn't this your reply to the question by GPE:

Nick,
Are you happy with Sisu suing a Coventry charity for 100k+???

Of course I am, as I have stated many times on this thread. ...

Are you saying that you are happy for SISU to sue the charity for £100k, but not happy if the charity have to pay that money? Do you want SISU to sue and lose?

Sisu arent the club-- Coventry and its people are the club. I didnt mention the council, but they are at least voted in, and are accountable and all parties have taken a stance- I guess that is democracy, right?

God, some of you lot are a bunch of whining fannies. And before anyone asks, no I'm not bothered that sisu are suing higgs, they can all sue each other to their hearts content, I'm completely beyond caring. Just want to support my club.

That might be your only hope--it certainly isn't mine. The very last thing I want is for sisu to get their grasping
hands on the RICOH.

Makes no sense though.

The deal with Higgs was agreed months before and was still on the table when CCC allegedly pulled out.

And this is where we can find out. Was (& how was) the Higgs deal agreed & did CCC pull out & under what basis? Bring it out in court.

And for all of the "suing a kid's charity" talk, the charity seems to do enough suing of it's own (e.g. Northampton Town).

I dont live in Coventry as do many supporters on here. In your terms does that it make it less our club than yours then?

How have they caused this?

By changing their mind about giving away a large part of their regeneration plans for North Coventry or by changing their mind about screwing a local charity or perhaps even by realising that what's being suggested is in fact far closer to state aid than what's been brought up in the JR.

I'm assuming you're a resident of Coventry. As such, how much more are you willing to pay in council tax to fund these plans you're cheering? Or which services shall we cut? Maybe social services can take a cut so your favourite hedge fund gets richer? (let remember it's still far from proven this outcome will even benefit the club)

Come on, you're so cavalier about "smashing the council" how do you want to pay for it?

Speak for yourself, I wanted to stay at Highfield Road personally the only place I will ever call our home and I know that's an opinion shared by my family and many of my friends. "They wanted it to be the new National Stadium" just an example of the nonsense..

I never said they were did I? Sisu own the Club, if Coventry and it's people are the Club then why is it in Northampton?

Higgs haven't sued anyone up to this point. If you can't differentiated between CCC ACL and Higgs you obviously haven't done enough reading around this to have a sensible debate.

All that comes out in court is people's version of events. I think we've had enough of that and I'm not sure I care enough about this particular soap opera to force every tax payer in Cov to run it.

Do I want to see documents because I'm a geek interested in CCFC history? Yes. Do I think they'll tell anything other than a limited version of events? No. Do I think that any of it would help the club I love going forward? No.

I wasn't speaking for anyone. I was reporting the mood at the time. Maybe you didn't agree, but most did.

Are you happy that a charity sued a company and are now being counter sued?

What I don't understand is why when Sisu walked away from the Higgs it automatically follows that the Higgs are part of the dastardly plan cooked up by the council months later.

On the one hand we're told that the council and ACL are clueless about pretty much everything and the Ricoh should be 'almost' gifted to them. On the other hand we're supposed to believe they're clever scheming bastards who were cooking operation "Screw Sisu" for the best part of a year.

Yes. Your incessant "balance" has meant its hard to know what the fuck you actually think.

How about you answer a simple question: do you think this is OK?
