Seeing as the club said they gauge how many wanted tickets via social media.

Me plus 5 = 6

It's just BS from the club, this forum is the most popular for Coventry fans. Actually take a bit of time out as I have done and read through the different threads relating to the Arsenal game. Between the baiting of those that don't go (for whatever personal reason) and the few who said they were not going, a large number of posters who do not attend sixfields clearly stated it was their intention to go to the Arsenal game.
Read through the posts yourself.
It was done out of spite.
Oh and I wouldn't have gone.

To be fair there was a very negative thread on here when it was announced as a Friday game. The impression I got from that thread was that getting to and from the game was a massive issue and as such a lot of posters wouldn't be going.
That said they have ballsed up.

I really don't believe its spite more like sisu tactics , they don't want more fans demonstrating when they can not take up the tickets , arsenal could well sell them sisu still get their cut.

Just think I would be nice to get the numbers on here then say to the wankers .... Who said we wouldn't sell 8 thousand. I don't attend sixfields but still support the boys away when finances allow.

The club in responce to the negativity about the move to friday night said themselves that 8000 were taken last year on a tuesday night and so they saw no reason this would be different.

Most people who said they couldn't go for a Friday night game seemed to suggest the issue was getting the last train back. The train company then announced details of a later train to accommodate those fans so that was no longer an issue. Sure there are some who couldn't make it who would have gone on a Saturday that can't on a Friday but it wasn't a problem last time we went to the Emirates or when we went to Old Trafford. If 30K can turn up for a night game in the paint pot cup there has to be a good chance of selling the extra allocation for Arsenal.

The club surely must of thought, it's Arsenal, potential league winners, champions league regulars, grade A stadium.... Why wouldn't Cov fans want to go.

We managed to cart 11000 to old Trafford on a Tuesday night not so long ago. I'm sure fans like myself were pissed off with the Friday night but still would of got there.

They did it just to help the people who refused to give them any money a favour!
:) they shouldn't have bothered on my account.
I guess letting Arsenal have them back took away any risk but still meant they would get their £ %.
Odd to blame the social media for that decision tho

Fair enough, I still don't think they have done it out of spite.

Shame the 30k who can turn up for a night game in the paint pot cup couldn't turn up for a night (or Saturday) league game.....

Shame the club never offered £5 tickets for a Saturday league game.

You think it's out of concern for use of public finance as Joy suggests?

No, I think it's because they believe (rightly or more probably wrongly) that they have been stitched up. None of us know whether what sisu alleged happened or not.

They did the same in every jpt game leading up to it but amazingly people weren't fussed..

Amazingly we got higher crowds than everyone else in every round.

I seem to remember them offering £10 tickets for the odd Saturday league.

For which we got big crowds.

Why do you think they waited a year to sue the Higgs Trust?

Can you remember which games they were?

Last one I remember was v Reading in April 2011.

Attn of 22,436 for a nothing to play for game isn't bad.

Why do you think they waited a year to sue the Higgs Trust?

Because Higgs decided to sue sisu to get the £30k they allege sisu promised to pay them. It's a counter sue probably just to get Higgs to drop their claim.
