Sisu Get to Peter Deeley (2 Viewers)

Sisu are slowly picking off key business leaders in the City. Having neatly convinced David Shortland to join their merry band (perhaps due to his land connections and love of the Club), they have also neatly deceived Miss Garlick (perhaps due to her connections with the Chamber), and now picked off Peter Deeley, another Coventry land owner with deep routed connections into the City, although this time through his daughter CBRE's Eleanor Deeley, the lady fronting the apparent land acquisition for Sisu. I wonder whether these business leaders really do know what this is doing for their long term credibility in the City, or perhaps, they will when the lawyers come to get them. "OH Peter, why have you exposed your daughter to these people, surely its not the money, or is it?".

So they are getting loads of people on board? I'd say these people believe in what sisu are trying or are getting something out of it for themselves.

So what do you believe or what are you getting out of it?

"When you dine with the devil make sure you have a long spoon". My experience of the private equity / hedge fund model is that it involves risk but higher than average return. I hope these city business people recognise that it is just not financial risk and that there also is reoputational risk to think of if you are involved in moving the club out of the city.

However once these established investors start sinking significant sums into project "Fisher Bowl" then I will take it more seriously, a few stadium designs and meetings to discuss toilet facilities and the colour of seating don't convince me that it isanything more than a bluff.

This accusing people of being in Sisu's pocket is getting very boring now. You are just being a WUM. Nick provides this site for us all to use, you don't have to share his opinion or even like him but at least show a bit of respect and stop making false accusations.

They can be covered up nicely with tinfoil hats in public, we've got enough to spare here.

What are you trying to accuse me of?

I think Nick is really Joy. Anyone that disagrees with me has to provide proof that I am wrong. To prove how I am right I am going to fact at the end of the sentance in capitals. FACT.

Got me there. Don't joke about it though, some people would actually believe you and start ranting at their computer about it.

Except they haven't been involved in moving the club out of the city. Maybe they want to be involved now so that they can help in whatever way they can to bring it back?

Nick has turned into the biggest WUM on the site.

Keep the balance nick and hello esoterica! You must be bored to be on here

Wouldn't be happy being within 6 miles of the Coventry outskirts, would you??

He didn't accuse you of anything, you said perhaps the people "on board" believe in what sisu are trying or being on board has something in it for them, your posts suggest you are "on board" so he is asking do you belive in what they are trying or is there something in it for you?

No doubt you'll respond that you arn't on board as that is said by almost all of the posters who seem to take delight in picking holes (mostly holes that arn't even there) with peoples posts who are against sisu without picking at the holes in the other sides posts, just like Grendel.

Would depend where exactly and what kind of transport links they have. Went to watch hertha berlin play earlier in the season. That's about 10km from the centre of Berlin but the set up was excellent and I actually enjoyed the feeling of travelling to the match - 15 mins on tram full of supporters singing and chanting and then a 10 min walk up to the stadium with the plaza filled with beer vans and hot food takeaways. Atmosphere and beer outside the stadium for a good while before the match

I'm clearly not on board like I suggested as they are now involved business wise? I am just a CCFC fan like most of the others. If I joined with a business venture then of course I would need to believe or be doing it for money.

How far from the council house is the ricoh? 5 miles? Its right on the city boundary isn't it? So we could potentially be looking at a ground 11 miles from town maybe?

Birmingham, rugby, leamington etc etc? Im sorry but no,its just not good enough, its to far away.

Its not Coventry.

If this ground does go ahead and its that far away from the centre of coventy then its a franchise pure and simple. The FL will have to either put a stop to this ridiculous charade or if they let it go ahead then force the owners to surrender the ccfc name and rename themselves Stonebridge rovers etc.

I'd wouldn't worry about this fictional ground mr v.

Was it not 6 miles from the city centre they quoted rather than the Ricoh?

The SISUE plan is a new stadium outside of Coventry, building a stadium in Exhall is not bringing the club back to the city also being part of a plan to give the club with a 12,000 capacity stadium is also something I would not want to be associated with.

On the balance of probabilities I'd plump for the latter being more likely, IMHO.

12000 is the bit that bothers me most. Needs to be about highfield road size then expandable.

the same as we shouldn't worry about moving to northampton as we will never play there? I would worry because they will do it if they feel it's best for themselves.
how is it beneficial to them , they only want the ricoh, to flog it and do one, why spend money building another ground, liquidation is more likely than a new stadium.

No - we tried to pin her on this but the fact it was not clarified as City Centre can only mean distance from boundary.

Note that 6m was claimed to be the furthest of the sites, they would not state how close the nearest one was due to "commercial confidentiality"...

Back in the day when they were quoting it was from the city centre, unless they have slyly changed it.

6 metres is fuck all to be honest.

Would be nice if some of those who support the project can explain why they believe it or why it's beneficial to CCFC long term. God knows Joy and Tim have failed to do that. Some clearly do support the project, there were quite a few at the ST meeting.

All we got from Garlick was "well I didn't believe they'd go to Northampton" which is hardly a ringing endorsement.

On the subject of Nick: I think he and a few others see a lot of posts putting one side of the argument forward (not surprisingly) and see it as balance to do the same on the other. There's no need to pick apart pro-Sisu arguments because there's like 30 of us on here ready to do that at a drop of a hat.

I also think there's a few who are (and have always been) a bit too cowardly to pick a side and as such just constantly play devil's advocate without putting their opinion forward.

Then there's a couple of blatant trolls.
