To be fair, and strictly in the interest of balance, wasn't the "Portsmouth WTF" thread or whatever it was that lasted over a million pages and was commented on and bumped over and over all about having a go at Pompy for their ability to trade while insolvent, don't seem to remember too much sympathy for them then.

The thing is, nobody really cares about other people's teams. You will get the odd fans who love football in general who care but does anybody really give a toss? How many of us cared if Chester went out of business? Yes there would be maybe a thought of 30 seconds where you feel for the fans and then you move on.

Yes, everyone is entitled to take whatever stance they want on this. They are free to do what they want but please don't attempt to justify attending Sixfields by saying 'Maybe they just want to go and watch a game of football.'

Surely given the dire state of CCFC, even you can see how such a statement will make the majority of fans fume at the selfish, short-sighted attitude of the few.

Grow up - what do you think they are doing there - appreciating the architecture? On that why slag off the ground as many of your type do - does than mean if it was state of the art you'd go?

I don't go and I'm not "fuming" at all - not with the attendees that is.

I think the OP's suggestion was a reasonable one. If those who attend Sixfields are unhappy about the situation (as many claim to be), it is not unreasonable to ask them to show that dissatisfaction.

Suggesting that the OP and others should attend to protest is not an answer – by not attending they are already making a protest.

The attendees are not being asked to sacrifice anything. They still get to watch the football team, but it does let the owners know it is under sufferance.

Some show of dissatisfaction by the attendees might go a long way to healing the rift between the fans and, who knows, might even lead to a protest that all could take part in.

People just need to accept that there will always be a small minority who just want to watch the game and not protest. Personally i now no longer attend, i am fed up of being strung along by our owners but thats my choice so let others get on with their saturday/sunday in peace!!

A couple of weeks ago I went to the pub on a Sunday when two games were on at the same time. I met up with my mate who is an AFC Wimbledon fan. I didn't know any of the others. They included Liverpool, Manure, Spurs West Ham and Carlisle fans amongst others. I was talking to my mate about what was happening with our club. Everyone knew at least a bit of what was going on. Most are worried about the way football is going. All agree that the fit and proper test is bullshit. The Manure fan is worried that his club will implode if they don't get into Europe next season. They have seen what has happened to Pompey. They know things are very wrong at our club? Nobody can understand why we are in Northampton or why the FL allowed it. Most of them didn't know anything about it until recently when it reached the media countrywide. Most can't believe that we are not demonstrating at every home game.

We are all meeting up for the game on Friday. BT Sport will hopefully show even more people what has happened to our club and hopefully will put pressure on the FL to do something about the situation.

We have seen the difference of Northampton attendees and those that would never go near the place. On the first forum for how this new ground will be the attendees were mainly nodding dogs. The one last night was the total opposite. And from this we found out they are looking at taking our club 6 miles outside Coventry as the crow flies it sounds like.

Maybe SISU should think about replacing Sky Blue Sam with a nodding dog.

Well said...and I can certainly recall how sorry I felt about Pompey's plight. And you're right, people ARE beginning to ask why we aren't protesting on a much bigger scale...people who aren't even interested in football in fact, but wonder how such a thing can be going on. This does reach beyond the City fans, but it's only the City fans who can attempt to do anything about it. We should all be united, those who go and those who don't go to sixfields, united to end this farce...and those inside the Northampton ground could help...and that's all this thread is mean't to be about!

This thread is typical of how things have gone. As you say someone makes a valid point but then it gets blown out of proportion with accusations and sarcasm and we have 12 pages on it. Yet on another thread, you have far more important and pressing issues about stadiums, inconsistencies and the potential future of our club but with far less pages. This proves to me that some people would prefer to argue and bicker for whatever reason than actually talk about the things that could actually unite us. Wanted to ask you as you say you have been and now don't for the reasons you give, do you think that others at Sixfields will start to feel the same or will they persevere indefinitely.

We are all city fans, we all want the club back at the Ricoh, we all hate playing in Northampton.

Now those of us that dont go are protesting by refusing to enter sixfields. It would be nice if those that do go in could stand shoulder to shoulder with the rest of us by doing some sort of protest in the ground? It would help unite the fanbase.

I dont hold with this argument of just wanting to watch a game of football, if that was the case then I can give you a list of half dozen clubs that are closer than Northampton.

Those that still go must have some love for the club. So where is the anger and frustration about what is happening to your club? Why arent you prepared to let it be known that your unhappy about it?

I struggle to understand how some who attend sixfields, after devoting a large part of their life supporting the sky blues, can just watch the club being destroyed without so much of a boo or chant.

It is a real shame that on most threads it starts off quite well and then turns into an us and them , with abuse and blame being fired off at various posters.
I agree with some of the posters that we are and should always be City Fans ( supporters), I will leave Styvechale Pete to debate what a fan and a supporter is :-

a person who is actively interested in and wishes success for a particular sports team.
synonyms: fan, follower, enthusiast, devotee, lover, admirer, zealot, aficionado.

If we all felt the same way there would be no debate, that is why this forum compared to others I view is so "good"
If we all do nothing, then The Owners will do what they want. If we do something and they still do what they want , at least we tried and made our feeling known . I have done the protests ./ marches / meetings , and sat in on meeting with Tim Fisher , and firmly believe at this moment in time that they are either going to build the new stadium in whatever guise, or not come back and walk away. But we will not be returning to the Ricoh.( I hope I am wrong). I do not go to 6 fields ,I go to as many away games as possible , get a football fix at Nuneaton Borough , as it is near my home, set up a company ( Coventry City AFC which I hope I never have to use , just in case !!
I am as fed up as the old boy who lives a few doors away from me who is 82 and supported City since he was 12 , until this year.

Seems like a number of people's answer is just for those who are refusing to go, to start attending games to protest. The thread was a very interesting suggestion. Just that of what if the people in the ground could make their feelings known that they too don't want to see us in Northampton.

Just because something is in a newspaper doesnt mean that people it doesnt affect give a shit.We are on our own in this,any the only way it will be sorted is if pressure was put on both sides.It might come as a shock to you but not everyone agrees that Sisu oops sorry SISUE are entirely to blame for all this.And calling someone spineless for going to watch the team that you claim to support as well is beyond words
