Afternoon all,

The last peice I read in The Grauniad in December mentioned that ACL were looking to perhaps get a rugger club to play at the ricoh.
Has anything happened with that?
What is the latest on your new ground?

The new ground is where it was 8 months ago, no further along and probably fictional.

Nothing has happened with acl getting a new tenant to use the pitch, doesn't sound likely to me.

You can stop blaming Thatcher now, she's dead ! Oh and you know exactly what has been happening with the whole Coventry saga !

Think that was just press talk. What a lot of people miss with the Ricoh is that, as it's not just a stadium bowl, it isn't the case that a team playing in the stadium on a regular basis is essentially. It could very well be the case that they can generate equal or greater revenue from the complex as a whole without one.

As for the new ground so far we've established nothing. There was an artists impression released which was uncannily similar to some old Brentford plans by the same company. We've established that the both representatives of SISU who claimed talks were advanced with 2 local councils were lying as all the local councils where the stadium could be located have responded to freedom of information requests stating they are not involved. In short, at present, it seems highly unlikely there will be a new ground.

I believe they once had very vague discussions with Wasps but it came to nothing and Wasps have now built a ground.

Hackneyfox!!! Good God, good to see you again. You're like a long lost uncle just come back from the Great War. :D

Short answer, nothing has changed since we left the Ricoh 8 months ago. Club are still pretending they're not interested in the Ricoh and the council are still pretending it's a viable business without Cov.

Hackers!!! Good to see you about. Thought the sister botherers had forgotten about us down here!

Everything is essentially on hold until Sisu can break the Council or give up trying. Next date is the JR (some time late Feb early March I think) where we'll probably get some movement.

No-one believes the new ground is a thing. But no-one believed we'd play in Northampton either, so most are a little wary regardless.

The Rumour I have heard is that they are in talks with a big Rugger Club but are still hoping it will be the City, will not be sorted until the beginning of next season so who knows.

Youseem more miserable and bitter then when I last looked.
It may come as a surprise, and it's surprised me, but I don't bother checking on you daily, always look for your result in the hope that my second favourite side has won but I've not checked on the boards since before Christmas.

Perhaps it was on GMK but I have posted that I feel for you (as a club not you personally), you should be back within the city bounds, playing in front of 5k crowds in the fourth, but definitely back in co*.

Can't even take the piss about crowds anymore.

Still you can't say anything about our debt as we no longer have one.

Happy days.

Nice to see you're both still around, do you jst go to away games or have you been to Northampton?
Must have been difficult for fans to have some of those early games when you were scoring for fun.

Nope, won't set foot in Northampton, Hackers.

What would you do if the same thing happened to Leicester? If they moved 34 miles away. Would you go you think, or not?

I have to travel a bit further than 34 miles for a home game but no if they were forced to move out of Leicester by cnuts like Sisu then I wouldn't be going.

I wasn't overly impressed with 7000 of you visiting MK Dons though, thought it was a tad hypocritical, if there was one ground where none of you should have turned up that was it.
I know a few people who lost respect for you with that move.

Hey Hackers good to see you are still alive......I think :D

Solidarity with football fans isn't what most people think. Otherwise how would you explain the amount of away supporters go to our so called 'home' games? We have had the occasional away fan join our own fans on the hill. That earns my respect. Otherwise we would have less than 2k at about every game if it wasn't for the away supporters.

I nearly went to the MK game. The person who I was going to couldn't get out of his shift that day. BTW he is an AFC Wimbledon supporter. He started supporting Wimbledon over 30 years ago. Most are still very unhappy with what went on but are now getting over it as they have their club back....although in Division 4. And if they played us in Northampton next season the vast majority of away supporters would go.

Well I personally wouldn't have gone to the MK game. Just wouldn't sit right for me that with them being this franchise club and the fact that they should never ever even have got a franchise in the first place and been allowed to move a team to a completely different city.
