Unbelievable ... he keeps managing to amaze me ... as to most unloyal footballers, I agree with many posters, he deserves to move, but he has to realise that he needs to go at a value that means we can replace him .. .

I think Pressley has shown that if players don't pull their weight the shrift they receive is rather short, so I assume the manager was happy, and that's good enough for me.

Plus our bench is weak.

Lets be honest it did'nt matter about the Sub,I think it was TBF to young Clarke to keep him engaged and a reward for the Shift Moussa put in IMO.

Sometimes footballers seem to keep their brains in their boots. Leon is having the best time of his nomadic football career. The most goals over an extended period - in his terms. A manager who is getting the best out of him, playing him in a system that serves him well. You'd think he'd want to keep the run going, not jinx it. A shame. When he's 40 and looks back he'll reflect and think what a bad move I made.
It reminds me of Ian Wallace, streets ahead of Leon of course. Some great seasons with us, working in a team that gave him the service. He left and was never the same. His career tailed off. Ditto Terry Gibson.

If Pressley thought Clarke wasn't doing the job he would have been subbed, regardless of whether the bench is weak or not, or do you consider Pressley to weak to do that?

Moussa was excellent, no one has doubted that, but if people are saying Clarke wasn't trying by comparing him to Moussa then surely, by using that argument, then many others weren't trying. Obviously an absurd argument.

If you have read all my posts you would be aware I judged Clarkes performance compared to everyones efforts not just Moussa. So not an absurd argument at all. I scored Clarke 5 the rest 6-8

I read this one, and although I realise you are in sole charge of rating players, I do think that if Pressley agreed with you he wouldn't have put up with a player who was just trotting about, not even breaking sweat. Are you saying Pressley is a poor manager?

Sorry Torch, there are very few footballers alive who qualify as 'heroes'. Leon Clarke definitely ain't one of them.

£500k plus a player would be fine. I think most strikers would do well in the system we play as it creates a lot of chances for them. I genuinely don't think he is any better than 3 or 4 of the strikers Wolves have already got so money plus one of those in return will do nicely.

In fact I'd be tempted to try for a straight swap, Sigurdarson and one of their youngsters (like Zeli Ismael) for Clarke.

This thread has made me smile.

Lately some on here have been saying that Moussa hardly does anything all game but is good to have on the pitch as he pops up with the occasional goal......some of them being great strikes. Against Arsenal he played well in the second half. Better than he plays most games. He ran himself into the ground and got subbed. Is he not fit enough because of not trying enough in league games? Why can't he play like that in league games against players not as good?

Leon plays better with Wilson. They play well together. He was up against very good defenders but still got chances. But because he has said he wants to leave he is now a target for lots of our fans. We need to enjoy his goals whilst he is with us. We have all been lied to by our clubs owners. Was Leon promised that we were going to strengthen when he joined? He could also be pissed off with no Wilson in the team. They always looked for each other when one scored. All we know is he has asked for a move. The rest is hearsay but some seem happy to take hearsay as the truth. So it is alleged that he is moaning about our club not accepting a Wolves offer. So what has he said?

It's a complete non story. Where are the quotes? How do they know he's frustrated?

Granted, I thought his performance was not up to his usual standard against arsenal, I don't think he kept hold of the ball once in the first half an hour, but I think the story is made up rubbish by a bored journalist who felt compelled to right something about us whilst we're in the spotlight. Until I see some direct quotes or a statement then I will believe it to be hearsay.

Keep playing him, he's the league's top scorer!

I agree it is funny how some have turned on him so quick.
He did have three really good chances to score against Arsenal and should have taken one.
If there is a part exchange swap deal being offered i don't want us taking a player for the sake of it.

He is also only 23 which puts him at a different phase of his career with more potential than Leon. also the fee was undisclosed so the sums mentioned above are pure speculation.

I've not seen one quote from Clarke himself. His agent is pushing for this as much as anybody. I thought he worked hard Friday night, only the 3rd of the chances was really gilt edged.

I sadly do think we will lose him this week ... as someone above said, 3 days is ages in transfer window terms, he will go on the last day running up to deadline, my only concern then will be who they get in (most probably on loan) to cover the gap now between loanee and Callum being fit ... which is what March ? Another 5 weeks with no recognised, in form, goal scorer ? The playoffs are most probably gone if Leon goes ... sadly.

Wolves have rejected a bid from Celtic for Leigh griffiths, I reckon that this move holds the key to Leons transfer.

Id imagine Griffiths would want a move to Celtic, so wouldnt be suprised to see Wolves accept an incresed offer.

Hopefully SISU can then hold Wolves to ransom, we know they have money in the bank from the sale of Griffiths and we know they are desperate for a striker to replace him.

They then need to re-invest!!

I say bollocks to the official transfer deadline. If this deal finally is agreed with only hours to go, it leaves us with no time at all to get a replacement! We need to say to Wolves that if not agreed by Thursday at 3pm, for example, there is no deal! They will then have to wait until the summer (by which time they won't want him) or it my encourage someone else to come in now and give us our asking price.
