Will be interesting to see if they manage to do enough in the coming days to make it playable on Saturday.

Not surprised with the aount of rian we've had in the area. The pitch has always struggled with this, mainly due to the ground being built on an historic landfill site, so has very poor drainage.

Northampton FC are saying that to get the game on this saturday, they need a lot of hot air

Might give TF a bell

Dunno about that, it appears to be leaking fans on a weekly basis

Might do us a favour if this is postponed as it will probably be rescheduled when Wilson is back.

I never knew it was a landfill site.

There is some truth in the nickname shitfields then?

I always thought the ones on the hill had a bit more sense than the ones going in.

Port Vale & Stevenage games also called off.

More rain to come. Postponing Saturday might not be a bad thing...

Northampton have just appointed Wilder, possibly Northampton being a bit sly and wanting the new man to have a full week training with the players before he takes charge?

Outside the box thinking .

Does this mean we have to shift another of our games ?

Only referees can call a game off. Not managers.

Unless you water an already waterlogged pitch which a certain ahem midlands club did in the past.

I wasn't suggesting that the manager called the game off, just that its convenient for them that the match is postponed with the new manager. So maybe NTFC didn't do all in their power to get the pitch into a playable state for the match.

Indeed, nothing to stop them watering the pitch.

Reminds me of the game at Charlton earlier this season when home club did nothing to clear the waterlogged pitch so away team tried. Not surprising when away team were a few goals up

Yeah, that was Doncaster who were two goals to the good I think at the time the game was called off. They lost the replayed fixture I think.
