None of this is mentioned when our owners compare the prices for venues. A top quality venue with excellent drainage and an under soil heating system are all things that you pay for. If you pay less the standard of facilities suffer. For most consumers this is common sense and all part of a deal. Easy to forget though unless it starts impacting upon fixtures.

SISU can't be blamed for the weather and this recently revealed picture of their new ground shows how they will tackle the problem of drainage.

the beach at the ricoh was awful for passing on towards the end. Sheffield utd pitch looked terrible against Fulham.

So the Ricoh looked bad towards the end of the season? We are just over half way through this season. And if it gets worse the players will be risking a serious injury. Could this be part of the reason Clarke wants out? We have lost Wilson for we don't know how long through falling. Then there will be mega sliding tackles and slips. Not what you want for a small squad like ours.

You tend to get more injuries on crap pitches with studs sticking etc.still we have a strong squad, plenty of kids in the academy.

"If Saturday’s game is called off it will be the first time City have had a ‘home’ match postponed in 17 years, the last time being an FA Cup tie with Woking at Highfield Road that fell victim to snow in January 1997.
The Ricoh Arena has never had a game postponed."

I'm sure that's wrong. Didn't a game get called off in our first season down from the Premier League around New Years Day? I definitely had to turn round and head home on my way to a game around that time. I remember distinctly being on the M3/A34 turn off at the time!

We need to get the yanks to bring over that climate change technology that their military allegedly have been developing. That should do it.

Well thats one idea, we could try to fight the British weather, or and I know it's out there but hear me out, we could play at a stadium that can handle the rain that comes every year without canceling games. Anyone know one? perhaps we should ask the Leicester u21's where they got theirs.

I've got say, I'm seriously impressed with your memory!

However, that one was at HR rather than the Ricoh.

Bloody HR, how crap was that place. ;)

On the upside though, did you check out the rest of the news for that day. Lee Mills signed. Turned our season right around that did. :)

I certainly felt my ST was money well spent that year, travelling all those miles to watch Laurent Delorge working his magic down the right flank, big Lee Mills in the middle alongside that (not yet) murderer, Jario Martinez dazzling us all with his rare substitute appearances. Then the wonder signings of Trollope and some other shit player from Derby to bolster the play off charge.

At the time I consoled myself that at least we couldn't fall any further. Oh wait.

This may be the first recorded case of a non-Rotherham fan remembering anything about a Rotherham match.

I see Sheffield utd v Peterborough is off . Waterlogged pitch. Whose fault, poor pitch, just unlucky with lots of rain or sisu?

Ok, now imagine Sisu moved us from a ground which wasn't affected by rain to Bramall Lane. Is it just bad luck or the fact that we shouldn't be in a place that shuts down when it drizzles?
