So was it in good condition when the game was called off for the Northampton game?

Still enjoy your 5 years at Northampton now all our best players are leaving or injured and not being replaced except with some short time loanees times are going to become even more grim.
Lost Dagnell because they would't offer him an 18 month contract shows the way our owners are not willing to commit on anything.

And still they are your hero's

1. Its not been called off yet
2. That decision wont be taken until Sat Morning - Walsall are not travelling that far
3. Ricoh is out of the question
4. Sixfields pitch has been remarkably good in every game we have played there - actually better than the quagmire of the Ricoh after Xmas for the past few seasons.

the banner may have to wait for its first Sixfields appearance....

At the end of the day whether a game had of been called off at the Ricoh based on history is highly unlikely but not impossible given the wrong weather issues that could of made the Ricoh unplayable in the past, remember when we played Norwich in the snow a couple of seasons back for instance? The staff at the Ricoh up until now have done a tremendously fine job and should be praised for it. To say it will never happen is naive, but chances are tht it's not likely.

You are making a different argument, no one as far as I can tell are suggesting that no games would ever be called off at the Ricoh, it absolutely could happen and I'd go as far as to say over a period of say 30 years it's perhaps even likely.

But we can categorically state that this game if it were being played at the ricoh would be going ahead and we can state that over any given year it's very unlikely a game will be called off at the Ricoh while it's very likely a game or multiple games would be called off at sixfields while it is supporting two clubs.

Even when there are facts out there to support otherwise it's still not good enough for some, a six-month deal was offered because Pressley didn't feel that he wanted Dagnall beyond that time span, nothing to do with Sisu!

No I am not Noggin as it's exactly the point I made at the beginning.

I don't think you can say that, just because there has never been a game called off at the Ricoh doesn't mean there would never be, I would admit though our chances of the game not being called off were probably better if we were at the Ricoh.

Well you can state that "categorically" because no one has played on it all year. What you dont know is what state it would be in if we were there and playing on it. My guess is that the game would be on but the pitch would be shite and not suiting our football at all.Playing our matches whilst others had them called off, never did us much good in the last few years did it as we lost most of those games.

The pitch certainly is in better condition than it would have been had we been playing there, all pitches deteriorate with use over the season, but I don't agree with most of the rest of your post, there is no doubt that the ricoh pitch last year was way below what it should be, but isn't that because sisu weren't spending the money to look after it just like they weren't spending the money to look after the academy pitch and equipment. ACL paid significant money in the summer to get the pitch up to great quality and hired the groundsman that was paid by ccfc and because of this the pitch looked awesome and there is absolutely no reason to believe the pitch wouldn't have performed well over the season.

But im sure we all agree with that point, you've been posting it like its contrary to what people have been saying, no one has for a second stated no game would ever be called off at the ricoh just this one and that it's also massively less likely at the ricoh.

Well we aren't at the Ricoh so enough said on it.

It's possible that there could be hurricane force winds that make the ricoh collapse and would have prevented the game, or perhaps we could get hit by a meteor wiping out the human race, leaving only cockroaches and Tim Fisher alive.

But while these are both possible scenarios they are unlikely enough that we don't need to take them into account when we look at the perfect Ricoh pitch and state categorically if this game were at the ricoh it wouldn't be being called off.

Hey Noggin, you confused me here. What exactly is the difference between a cockroach and Tim Fisher?

I thought DAgnell was pretty average. SP must have thought so too or else he would have offered a longer term deal. I don't think he'll set the world alight at Orient either. Pointless getting in players who aren't any good. You'd no doubt moan about that too.

unfortunately Tim Fisher can talk and also, Tim Fisher is a much more damaging Species, both make a satisfying squelch and crunch sound when stepped on and the world would be better without both.

I'd rather we revisited Stephen Elliott on a short or 18 month deal If he Is back to fitness .

This thread is mostly on topic and overall very polite, there is almost no slagging people off. It's not perfect but it's one of the best threads, people have debated politely and even on occasion agreed with each other.

Saturdays match postponed

Ricoh Available ?

If the game is confirmed as postponed, ACL should offer the Ricoh free of charge for the game. It almost certainly wouldn't be accepted but wouldn't do ACL any harm from a PR point of view

So basically this whole thread is dedicated to something that hasn't happened? The op heard flooded, assumed the match was of and it isn't?

Noooooooo! A reputation based on two goals against MK Dons.

I've never seen such a terrible first touch in professional football and I saw Michael Doyle play a lot.

If it is called off this has to go down as an own goal for SISU. There would be absolute no doubt that the game would be on had this been at the Ricoh, look at last year and the snow. The more and more this saga goes on the worse it gets for SISU. When will these clowns leave, for god sake Joy, swallow what pride you have, call Lucas (and yes it should be that way round) and get us to the Ricoh for this weekend and the rest of the season.

Well that's true! That's a positive at least.

We actually have an exciting transfer deadline day coming up - something City fans don't usually get to participate in.

I just hope SISU - yes SISU - don't let the club down. They have Leon Clarke's cash burning a hole in their pockets.

We have a team good enough to make the playoffs IF decent strikers come in.

Over to you SISU - cough up.

You mean like they did when we were fighting to stay in the Championship.

The decision to move to Sixfields was a frustrating one agreed and this was always a possibility I completely agree, but there is no point dragging it up every time something is out of place it solves nothing.

We are hoping that if we say it often enough sisu might take notice.Anyway if the cobblers insist on playing
in a cows meadow what can you expect.
