it seems swansea are trying to talk Rory into going back to cov, he apparently cant play for swansea u21's because he is still officially a cov player.

If he's still officially our player, what a waste. does that stop us bringing in another body, what would the fans reaction be if he returned, would he be given stick or a clean slate

If the lad really doesn't want to be here why waste wages on him? Let him go and it frees up a loan slot for someone who actually wants to play

I would really like to know what the problem is here? Spit it out Rory. If you don't fancy playing for us then say so.

Do we actually know why he went back? Is it defo because he just didn't want to play for us or has a member of his family taken ill or something?

Clean slate. Just a kid at the end of the day.

Would be good to know what has happened.

Makes you wonder if he's cone in with a Billy Big Bollocks attitude and been knocked down a few pegs.

Is this the problem with British Youth Footballers as the moment? He's obviously not good enough to play in Swansea first team but would rather languish in their youth squad than get real first team action at a club that are in turmoil but he can get out in a few months with some real experience.

Are Laudrups comments posted on here a few days ago a Clue??

Few comments from laudrup in September ...

"Rory is a talent, a real talent," Laudrup said. "He has quality, but striker is a very difficult position to play.

"The player needs to be prepared, or everybody needs to feel he is prepared, and Rory is somewhere in between at the moment.

"On the one hand I would like him to go out on loan and play regularly in the Championship, because I think he is at the level to go there right now and do well.

"We all saw that he did well in pre-season and we saw that he can offer something. Maybe he needs some experience and then to come back, but I definitely think he has a future in the Premier League.

Laudrup could be sacked any day now, so maybe Donnelly just want to be around when a new manager walks in?

Yeah,Is It conceivable that this is one of those occasions where the Club bought the Player rather than the manager?

The club can confirm Donnelly has returned to his parent club for non-footballing reasons...
Rory Donnelly has returned to Swansea City for personal reasons and will not be available to play for Coventry City for the remainder of this season.

Donnelly joined the Sky Blues on loan last Friday but has returned to his parent club due to non-footballing reasons.

A Swansea City spokesman said: "Rory has returned to the club for personal reasons.

"We are grateful to Coventry City for their understanding and professional handling of a matter that was out of their control and we thank them for their cooperation."

"mummy I'm scared!"

but on a serious note, hope it is genuine personal reasons, and not that he isnt up for the challenge here.

Well, he's not just going to sit around, is he? If he's not coming back then the loan will be cancelled, I would guess.

Don't think he can.

Not sure of the rules to be honest. Just going on what I have read. Not sure what the rules are on cancelling loans just so he can play for another team. Not sure he can even play for Swansea reserves.

Anyway, time to forget about him. Yes, he stopped us being able to bring in someone else for the rest of the season. Can get someone on emergency loan but don't think they'd be available for playoffs.

And for that alone he should be derided.

Cheers for everything you've done Rory, you will be remembered fondly along with are other great loan success stories such as Conor Henderson, Jamar Loza and Lee Sawyer

Henderson was half decent for us.

Looks like he has a young baby. Only thing I can think is that his partner and baby couldn't move for some reason. Have to say I could understand that even if it's a bit short sighted in terms of his career.

Not sure if you're being serious, Conor Henderson of Arsenal who played about 60 minutes for us under Robins?
