A wealthy benefactor (ie Haskell) invested heavily in, or bought, Coventry Sphinx and at the same time acquired all, or part, of the Ricoh ? A question, not a suggestion.

What he said.It wouldn't happen. No chance. If it did then obviously it would gain fans and support. Ricoh would be too big but it wouldn't get my support. I'm a Coventry city fan whether we are in turmoil or not.
question of my own, why hasn't he already done it ?
a club could be bought for pennies and Ricoh doesnt have a tennant
Bullshitter I think. Firstly Leeds then us. BAck in June he was apparently "pressing ahead" with buying into the Ricoh anyway and then trying to get CCFC "eventually".

Please explain why any rich benefactor would do that? What would he have to gain and how would he get a return on his investment?

Anyone ever heard bout Chievo Verona in Italy?
Nothing club whilst Hellas Verona won Serie A in '85. Rich cake manufacture bought Chievo, changed the colours to yellow and blue (same as Hellas Verona), moved up the leagues to professional football.
Chievo then moved into the municipality owned stadium where Hellas Verona play and have gone on to play in the UEFA Cup. They are in Serie A still but have half of the fans of Hellas Verona (who have now been promoted back to Serie A also).

I think the key word here is 'apparently'.
Paper talk is all we have access too in this situation.
You tell me -- I asked a question, not made a suggestion !
As far as I remember there were quotes from him, but I could be mistaken. Another good example though of believing the CET when it suits and dismissing them when it doesn't.

CWR said he was "weeks" away from acquiring a part of the Ricoh while the bidding for the Club was happening.
CT also had quotes but I don't know to what nature.

But who actually said it.
It's lazy journalism to make a general statement without quoting the facts or the source.
Totally unbiased reply by nick as usual

It's only bad when Tim Fisher talks rubbish in the paper, anybody else it's just the press making things up
