It's not going to happen, who's going to buy a football club with a leasehold on shit ground and absolutely no fans as both ccfc fans and Northampton town fans will turn their back and a debt of £60m+ in league one?

It's just more scaremongering nonsense.

sisu are capable of the unpredictable, i think liquidation is more likely, but the merger has more chance than lego land.

A temporary move to Northampton is a completely different kettle of fish to a merger, refranchising and permanent move away from Coventry.

Until you can provide guaranteed proof that we are coming back inside Coventry City boundaries, then you are talking "Permanent move".......I'll be waiting, although I won't hold my breath.....Take your time...Tick Tock.

There is more proof that it's only temporary move then there is that it's a permanent move.

There's the statements from the FL, the £1m bond Otium have to pay to show its commitment to return to Coventry, the real possibility that the FL will throw us out of the league if we don't return within realistic and agreed deadline. The ongoing JR...etc

Show me the evidence that we'll never return to he Coventry area?

I'm sorry but the philosophical burden of proof in this debate is required by those who are suggesting the extreme is the most likely outcome.

The onus of proof on this debate is on those adamant we are leaving forever/merging with Northampton and losing the Coventry City name.

Otherwise (of course) we go round and round in a pathetic and never-ending circle.

A - "Prove aliens exist!"
B - "How about you prove they don't?!?!"
A - "Fair point, aliens DO exist unless I hear otherwise!"

It really hurts my brain when people try to genuinely draw parallels with our case and the MK dons case.

It makes me want to throw my laptop out the window when I see complete mentalists who genuinely can't see past the idea of this (for the sake of argument we'll call it) 'merger' being the most likely outcome. However, I suppose it does suit the symptomatic, melodramatic, hyperbolic nonsense that plagues this board.

"What if Tim Fish-face was an ALIEN looking to take over the planet and he's starting at Coventry City?!?" Thanks David Icke.

The FL are quite clear that the club must return to the "Coventry Area", but what I want to know is what the "Coventry Area" is, can you say, I certainly can't and when I asked the FL they said I should contact the club as they can't comment.

Considering the attitude of some City fans on here and how they slag off Northampton Twon, their ground and their fans constantly, I hope "we" weren't cheeky enough to put a link to our petition on their forum. They're likely to tell us to do one.

Can you please not? It's bad enough to see everything get picked apart wrongly here and threads go south within five posts without spelling and grammar smack getting in on the mix too.

Yes that's because you were calling people thick and dyslexic but spelt it wrong, of course people will pick up on it.

If I question somebody's intelligence and then spell everything wrong then feel free.

Don't disagree with you as it's kind of important isn't it, where that actually counts as. Think most of us would accept a ground outside the administrative boundaries but still 'Coventry' but it'd be nice to know the answers.

That's a very different argument to squatting permanently in Northampton though, which if that was the case why wasn't Northampton their one and only choice to move to?

Also if it's all about owning the ground and nothing else, why pick one where ownership isn't an option?

And why pick a town where you fight against plenty of competition for support as opposed to, say, Telford?

Too many logical failings to suggest Northampton is anything other than a temporary stopgap. If you want to get paranoid, at least get paranoid about them buggering off to Belfast or something.

.

Do you mind....

I went to Wembley twice with Telford Utd.

Interesting (well.....) story there - in 1970, the week before the FA Cup Final Telford wearing white lost to Macclesfield wearing blue. The following week, Chelsea beat Leeds (after a replay) In 1971, Telford wearing yellow shirts and blue shorts beat Hilingdon wearing all red. The following week Arsenal beat Liverpool (guess the colours).

Anyway, having been liquidated, Telford are now a Phoenix club (or are they?) having re-emerged as AFC Telford. Currently second in the Conference North, so could be playing Northampton next year..

Yesterday they beat Stockport 2-0. Remember our first game after relegation from the Premier League? Someone who's fallen ever faster and further than us.....

'We're all going on a Nationwide tour'.

I did actually say to my Dad after the game, that in a way it would be a pity that we'd only be there for one season, because it'd make a pleasant change winning all the time.

"And would you like any salt and pepper to eat those words with Sir?"

Do we really have to have this vitriol towards NTFC? Yes, their chairman agreed to groundshare with Satan but if he had not it would have been someone else perhaps even further away from Coventry.

Its you who raised the insane idea he would try and merge the golden share to preserve league status.

yes. And if was another club I would ba annoyed at them, however far away they were.

Just like if we were actually playing in Coventry and we agreed a ground share with a club 30 odd miles away. I would be livid. Supporting moving a club away from its area, as well as ruining our pitch.

I hope they go down !

It looks as if they will mate. Where will that leave us?

34 miles from home, with 10% of "fans" actually going to home games, and landlords that are no longer a league club, causing confusion as to who gets priority over when games get played, meaning NTFC fans will be annoyed as well
