Will be interesting to see how it goes for him/them after Joe Lolley leaves. Kid's a class above that level.

I was saying give him till 10 games in season he got sacked and if he isn't cutting it then a change is needed. But given the previous 4 managers I wasn't expecting much.
TBF it was his first manager role & it was clear from his early interviews he wasn't expecting it.. I guess he made a mistake taking the CCFC job when he did, but you live & learn.

True, I suppose it's as much as the fault of the persons who employed him.

I've posted that viewpoint before & been told by Grendel I was wrong, LOL

But I think after Hoofroyd was sacked Thorn became the supporters favourite and Sisu bowed to the supporters wishes..

And the fans who were deluded in thinking he was any good.

In one respect of course this is a fairly easy gig for thorn. Not many managers walk into a job where the team is already in promotion play offs. On the other hand the chairman has made it clear its promotion that is expected. So lets see.

I wouldn't put it like that G but I did state something similar above.

Agreed, Andy Thorns job at Kidderminster will not be easy as a lot is expected. If he can get that squad of players organised there is no reason why they shouldn't, then everyone will praise AT as the best thing since sliced bread.

And Andy Thorn will promptly take that sliced bread, fry it, stuff it full of kebab meat and fried egg, bacon and cheese and eat the bloomin thing.

Why wait till the end of the season for that it's a typical Saturday night down here in Devon?!

The Harriers fans seemed to have seen through him a bit sooner than most of ours did.

http://www.harriers-online.co.uk/season13-14/reports13-14/linc_a_15-2-14.shtml

It just goes to show how little some of our supporters know about football. Still, it is reassuring to know that most of the fundamentalists on here believed him to be one of the best managers in the country. I wonder just how far he could have taken West Ham?

I am certain had we got rid of him then we would have stayed up that year, you get what you deserve though I guess.

We all knew Thorn's perception of success was way out of kilter with the rest of those in the carpet town when he punched the air in triumph having drawn with crisis stricken Hereford (who by the way lost 7-0 at Luton today) a few weeks previously. Losing at home to a team in the bottom four (Dartford), a heavy defeat at Gateshead and relying on star man Joe Lolley to beat Salisbury in what was otherwise a poor performance all augur poorly for the future this season.

Just seen this as well - http://www.harriers-online.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8307

This statement is even more telling:

It is obvious that the uninspiring pre and post match interviews is emulated in the dressing room. On the pitch the players are clearly trying but i) de-motivated and ii) unsure what is expected of them tactically.

Reminds me of away point at Turf Moor on the day Forest and Bristol both won. We moved closer to relegation that day and yet our keeper was booked for time wasting with 10 mins to go and on the final whistle, Thorn waddled over to the SBA and punched the air as if we had just won a semi final.

Oh Dear Oh Dear! Let's hope Big Sam isn't sacked soon then so people don't call for him to go to West Ham.

A few of the quotes are exactly like here.

I thought the general opinion in the end was "nice guy, crap manager"?

I admit that one of Sisu's greater crimes was diverting attention long enough for most to give him the benefit of the doubt though.

An owner who wasn't also trying their best to relegate us and his incompetence would've stood out earlier. Bit worrying that Fisher didn't notice anything was wrong until he moved his office to Ryton though.

Perhaps he did - he would have found a warm recommendation.

True. He may have thought he was stealing him away from West Ham. Some people pointed things out months in advance but others didn't accept them due to their hatred for SISU.

A few quotes:

Unlike those who back the manager and then turn on him when results go wrong, I'm sticking to my guns. I don't want to be a typical football fan, ta.

I don't want us to stop playing this style of of football which is why I want Thorn to stay. He has had no resources, has been lied to and none of this is his fault.

Even if fucking SAF came in we'd still be fucked. Half of you need to learn a little bit about football before spouting shite. Yes, we're on a shite run but look at our players for god sake. They're awful. We'll gain nothing by sacking Thorn, plus, who else would want to manage Cov. I refuse to have a go at Thorn because he's giving his all and while the football is played in the right way it'll suffice. Some fans really need to adjust their aspirations and realise that perhaps we deserve to go down. When we go down at the end of the season I really hope Thorn is here and SISU have fucked off but I doubt either of those will come true. Thorn will be sacked and the same people wanting him sacked will be asking for the next manager to be given time.

IM SICK OF THESE STUPID THREADS....WHEN YOU WILL GET IT INTO YOUR THICK FUCKING HEAD, 1 they wont sack him he is on the cheap and costs them less, 2 NOBODY i repeat NOBODY could do anything with these TWATS in charge so dont have a go at him, you all seem to forget that without AT we would have be relegated years ago, he was the one that got Dann, Fox, Westwood, Gunnarson, Jukewitcz, Bigi, Thomas and all the other decent players weve had over the last 3 seasons so PIPE THE FUCK DOWN

Lets be realistic and think what level of manager can we really attract to our club.

He is as good as we will get

i back AT beacuse SISU will not pay to replace him.

These are all out of a single thread....

I don't think people said he was one of the best managers in the country.

I can't find a couple of the quotes, there was the famous one about if he was West Ham manager they would win the league, another one about Fergie saying he wouldn't do any better than Thorn in his position.
