9 quid to watch Cov tomorrow (3 Viewers)

Don't be silly
It has been suggested on here on numerous occasions that the thirty thousand we got against Crewe was due to a combination of the 5 quid price and the chance of a trip to Wembley.

We now have a 9 quid price tomorrow, so I assume at least there will increase in attendance. Even by a tiny bit?

My point really is that some dismiss the 30k we got against Crewe.
Part of this dismissive attitude is based on the fact the price was 5 quid.

I think that that is rubbish and had very little impact. It was mainly because Coventry fans so often starved of success were finely getting some.

The 5 quid would have an impact but not as much as the chance to finally see Cov win something for the first time in nearly 30 years!

If cost was so important a drop to £9 quid would see some rise in attendance.

As some people still go to Sixfields despite travel time and costs.

Yet it won't lead to an increase in attendance as it was not a critical factor when we got the 30k a taste of success was.

Which shows the potential we have in the city with owners with a genuine ambition for success.

It was £5 for every JPT game, the fiver reason doesn't hold up. Most of the people I know who didn't usually go but turned up against Crewe went because they thought we would get a day out at Wembley. So many people said "It's football for a fiver" but it was the same price all the way through the JPT at the Ricoh.

In terms of the lower price at Sixfields, it is times like this the club should be laying on coaches or deals on car parking to try and get people there. It is all well and good it being £9, but people should be enticed a bit more which I have said all along this is where they are failing :(

I bet the young lads like Thomas, Fleck, Christie and co would be delighted to hear that.

Thinking outside the box fair play!
I agree with you they probably would,

They will desperate to be back playing at one of the better stadiums in the country.

It's been £9 all season and is 34 miles away, thus the saving on the ticket price will be swallowed up in travel costs.

Have you got any more of these brilliant insights?

Prices cut from last season to encourage fans following move from Ricoh Arena

Sixfields Stadium
Coventry City have confirmed travel and car parking plans for their ‘home’ matches at Sixfields Stadium this season – as well as matchday ticket prices.

Matchday tickets at the Northampton venue range from £13 to £18 for adults, from £9 to £13 for concessions, and, for Junior Sky Blue members, from free for under-sevens to £5. The prices have been cut from last season as the club try to win over fans following the move out of Coventry.

Didn't he mean midweek games? I always thought they were cheaper than the weekend ones?

Maybe it is but the Crewe match was a midweek fixture as well.

So if price was such a critical factor in getting us 30k then.

I would expect that we will see some increase in attendance tonight with a reduced £9 fee.

(Which we will not)

I agree, I don't think it is just about price. It wasn't against Crewe and certainly isn't now.

I don't doubt a lot of people won't ever go to Sixfields but I do think there are people who would but can't.

Whether they can't get there, are disabled etc but they physically cannot get to Sixfields I think the club should have been targetting these from the start. You can't expect some OAP's to travel and then walk to the ground. I would have run a coach for cost (couple of quid each) that dropped them off next to Sixfields with a cup of tea on the way and a video of 1987 to get them in the spirit.

It's very sad really when consider people like that who previously that Saturday afternoon would have been the highlight of their week.
Poor buggers :(

Ive only been a fan for 10 years - when we have been shit.so obviously you are more qualified than me to know whats right and wrong. I have reviewed my stance, I dont like Sixfields but i will continue to proudly go and protest from the inside and will encourage others to do so.

Doesn't matter how long to be fair, you are as entitled to your opinion as much as a fan of 60 plus years. But I'm interested on what you do to protest inside the ground, and what encouragement you give to others? Is it vocal, "KCIC" sort of thing? Do you hold up banners "why" "when" etc? How do you stop the stewards from ejecting you when you protest, or are they sympathetic to our cause?

I believe Andreas was taking the p*ss.

His comment made me laugh.

Don't worry, I believe he was too. He did refer to some kind of banner protest a few weeks ago which focused on our time away from Coventry (number of weeks away which changed game by game). He talked about "How to engage the Sixfielders"

About protesting inside or feral kids?

Both comments were hardly side splitting comedy ???

About feral kids. It was a joke. Jesus some people are just too fekking serious, get a sense of humour.

It was ironic, I was there, I presume you actually attended a game rather than posting your whimsical thoughts on the internet and it wasn't full of feral kids...so it was a joke. Lighten up sunshine.

tickets for next midweek game were not a fiver and did not offer a chance to make buying wembley tickets easier

Exactly. It is people who would love to go but physically can't the club should be targeting and should have from the start. People might say it is "desperation" but it would have softened the blow.

They should have also done something for any disabled fan + carer who was at the Ricoh to help them out.

And the other game at £5 that got a 5k attendance.
It was a chance to finally get see Cov win something.

of course it being a semi final mattered too,but dont kid yourself it was gonna sell out without fiver price, also the same tickets gave priority to getting tickets for wembley, that was huge.

I was sat there possibly right beside you. You are falling into Andreas' trap of stereotyping now.

I don't think it was a joke I think it was he or she's genuine thoughts. I don't actually have a problem with them.

But I genuinely did not know which was supposed to be the piss take comment. I have not heard about any protests in the ground i am interested.

However still think the ferrel kids comment is hardly comedy genius. You need to watch Father Ted it will expand your horizon.

Yes the Wembley pull and the chance to see Cov win something there was the real pull.

Watched everyone. I would have thought you may have worked that out by my use of the word fekk......are you sure you have watched it and expanded your horizons?

** Its not stereotyping to state your posts or whimsical nor to state Andreas was joking :pointlaugh:

I think it would have. The thing is with CCFC is that people will get involved if the bandwagon is rolling (whether it is the press, fans talking, the club's marketing). Remember the Leeds game where everybody was talking about it? Leeds were bringing a few, get involved. It was on the front page of the CET and everywhere.

One of the issues is people talking about CCFC.

100 percent agree. I am a bit gob smacked to discover they have not.

Special disabled busses and OAP's travelling for free.
