There were some who worshiped the ground he walked on. I wont name them, they know who they are and are conspicuous in there absence from this thread.

Do many of them happen to be some of the most hardcore SISU haters?

I don't think people said he was one of the best managers in the country.

Best cccfc manager since jimmy hill
Would have been worth at least 10 more points for west ham than allardyce
Most entertaining football for over a decade
First half against burnley some of the best football a Coventry team has ever played (we lost)

And hundred more where they came from.

By lost you mean drew 2-2 obviously.

They are nearly as impressive as Thorns own quotes, "I couldn't have asked for more" "The lads need to step up to the plate" "I couldnt be prouder" etc etc, which were normally used after yet another defeat

None of these seem to suggest these people thought he was the best manager in the country though?

No dear chap - October 2011 - we lost.

Surely when people would say that "best football a Coventry team has ever played" they were referring to his first match in charge which was against burnley. I distinctly remember people say it at the time.

Lots of people said it about the 2-2 draw, but there was also the 2-1 loss where Charlie Austin scored in the last minute. I can only recall one person saying it when we lost.

If only you and the other enlightened among
Us had adopted a Twitter hate campaign maybe we could have been rid of SISU
Their Chair/CEO/Owner has resigned as a result of a bitter Twitter tirade from the fans
Along with his director wife.

This is a Coventry City forum. Can you please stop talking about him like we give a fuck about him. He is nothing to do with us so give it a fucking rest. Are you in love with him or something? the way you carry on about him is like when a school kid fancies another and they act vile towards them. It really is fucking boring to the extreme. I am sure if you look hard enough you could find him on twitter or something and stalk him away from this site.

Used to give him a clap when a cheery wave did you?

Remember, my first post said that man would destroy the club if he wasn't sacked -- I was 100% right as I am now about the current situation and most idiots on here were very, very wrong.

If it's a Coventry City forum why do most spend their time sucking up to ACL and the Council - they are not the football club are they?

ACL and the council have a pivotal role to play in CCFC's future. Andy Thorn was a bad manager we had for about a year. Being obsessed with either is kind of weird, but the Thorn obsession is just creepy.

It's symptomatic of the problems this club faces. He was given huge credit by many supporters as they saw him as an anti hero to SISU. We see the same in the battle with the council and ACL. It is warped logic.

Kidderminster on the other hand care only about the club and almost certainly will force him out this week. They are planning a demo before the game Tuesday demanding he goes.

If we had done the same in the Championship season we would still be in the Championship and still at the Ricoh. So no it was pivotal in our demise and the apathy and utterly poor judgement of supporters is largely responsible.

hilarious Grendel, it's Andy Thorn who destroyed the club, right.

Yes in combination with the cretins who backed him. Kidderminster fans clearly are far more knowledgeable than ours -- if only we had them in Block 16 in 2011.

That's.....quite a narrative you've come up with there.

No, it's the truth - a very uncomfortable truth for many who seem now very conspicuous by their absence.

There is one poster on here by the way who has created over 30 separate threads about Thorn telling everyone how good he is -- that's obsession and delusion. Same delusion that ignores the Council's role in the destruction of the club.

Have you ever seen a post on this forum from me saying I liked or supported Thorn, I'll make it easy for you because you won't find one so barking up wrong trees spring to mind with regards to your first post.

Secondly, likening Thorn to some sort of Guy Fawkes who wanted to destroy the club seems a little deranged. The club was in a bad state before he came and little has changed after he has gone.

Lastly, Despite your obvious hatred for all things ACL/CCC, the reason people spend time talking about them is probably because they own a patch of grass that we up until recently called HOME, the walls still bear our clubs badge, they have tried to improve their offers for our club to return HOME and despite them looking to move on as any rational business should do, they would still love Coventry City FC to be playing there.

I think there's a few too many variables and hypotheticals in your little alternate history for you to go claiming it's "the truth". As you well know, there are several people responsible for the club's demise, and the situation's far too complicated to go around saying one person's solely responsbile.

Could be wrong though - maybe if we'd planned a Thorn Out protest we could have somehow stopped 9/11 as well.

By Cretins I take it you mean Sisu as they are ultimately the ones who backed him as they gave him the job. Surely the bulk of blame and responsibility lies at their door for hiring him? Or are Coventry fans now Ultras like in Italy where they have a big say in club affairs?

Oh I really think you need to look in the archives on here -- if he hadn't been appointed there would have been a riot. Fans can and always influence decisions on management.

Really, well from this point on I start my get Mourinho campaign for CCFC manager. Sisu listen to no-one and take advice from no-one. They do it their way only and probably hired Thorn due to the fact they had fuck all else up their sleeve and it was an easy appointment for them because history has shown us they know fuck all about football. Only Waggot's influence has got decent managers for us. Ask yourself one question, if Waggot was here prior to Thorn's appointment, would he have been hired?

Eric black being dismissed for the clown that was peter reid upset a lot of fans but it was hardly independence square in kiev. Thorne was a cheap option and was given the job, should have been sacked about Nov 2011 - but SISU persisted with him and even after relegation with the transfer genius waggot assembled a shambolic collection of players with the exception of fleck. Sisu appointed coleman and Booth the Hoof also. But in light of our current issues we need to move on from Thorne it is a bit obsessive.

Maybe SISU should have used those hardball tactics of not paying rent, not agreeing the good deal and threatening to move the club out of the Ricoh. That you agreed as it will 'benefit' the club. When they dealt with AT.....

Weak and lame response -- the sign of a defeated man who has been hit by the Tsunami of reality.

Thorn is responsible for our demise? Not Richardson then? Or does it depend which week Grendel is posting in?

He said if we (not the owners) had got rid of Thorn we would still be in the Championship and at the Ricoh?

That seems to ignore SISU argument around the economics of rent etc., as well as the whole rift between SISU and ACL. We would still be in Northampton!

Everyone and anyone except SISU is to blame for our demise. Is that what you are saying?
