What has a loan player who didn't want to play, and a youth player who wasn't up to scratch, got to do with what's going on behind the scenes?

That in isolation isn't really a problem, your star man handing a transfer request, no secret Christie wants off, inability to sign players on long term contracts and senior players out of contract in the summer does start to worry me somewhat.

I'm still 100% confident of avoiding relegation, although will probably slide to around a 16th place finish. Can't wait for the end of this season now

Me too, probably only need 10-11 points from 16 games to be safe, we're not going to be relegated.

when did we last win a league game?

8pts in last 7 games, W2, D2, L3, that is how it is. Relegation is still very unlikely unless even that sort of form can't be sustained.

Anyone can pretty much say what they like...but given our "situation" - without the deducted 10pts we would still be only 2points out of the play-offs at this moment...out-performing most expectations beyond imagination.

Just to dampen spirits and a reality check.

This is Coventry City. We are not naturally a level 3 club. We don't belong here. It's SISU who has done this.

Some people seem happy enough to be mid table or would be near the playoff without a deduction.

We shouldn't even be here!

I agree with the bare bones of a squad and very young squad, they have done well.

Same as 4 weeks ago only needed 6 points to be in the top 6 where are they.

And THAT is what we have become. It's all very well adopting the 1966 attitude (England are world-beaters) but that doesn't alter where we actually are now...regardless of the why & wherefore.

Not really, the odds were always against a top 6 finish, even 4-5 games ago we needed to average 2 points per game to get to the magic 74 point mark. I always said that was difficult. Much harder to breach the gap at the top competing for points against other teams who are also form teams picking up points, than it is to stay ahead or break away from those at the bottom struggling and picking up a lower average of points per game.

Christie would be no loss. He's no better than this level and has been found out.

Well a week Sunday the game is at Sixfields vs 2nd bottom club (Shrewsbury Town), their last 8 form is 21st out of 24.
So that should be a guaranteed 3 pts, shouldn't it?

It's nopm working mate. That's what the campaign was. Starve them out.

We'd only be paying them what they were getting anyway. Bearing in mind that a lot of them would be getting less than what they were on at other clubs. Sisu have assured us they will fund the loses. Didn't Sisu or Arvo or something inject a few million recently, where has that gone?

Err NO ... it isn't guaranteed anything sadly, but Callum should be back then, so we have a chance I grant you.

What by not signing any of them what happened to building a squad and adding a couple of players every year to strengthen up the squad. Can't start from fresh every season will get us no where?
Learned from mistakes such as Bell and Eastwood?

not worried bout this season ,didn't expect nomore than a relegation dogfight after the points loss. seems tho that ther is a problem keeping players. and with a few want aways and a couple with not long left on present contracts ,well im already worried for next season .we have never had it good being city fans ,but we used to compete in the top flight ,we stagnated for years but we could and did compete ,we are now in a very poor league apart from a handful of teams and we are struggling week in week out ,and as I see it ,its only going to get worse.

I admire your optimism but if we do get dragged down anywhere near the relegation fight, have we got a squad that is well equipped enough to cope with the pressure as well as a possible fixture back log. This is the scenario that worries me.

On the plus side there will surely be a further dropping off of 'home' fans at the next match.

Fuck off '3k minimum' Fisher.
