Before this season I had attended home games for 50 years, becoming a supporter in the fantastic JH era in 1963. I'd had a season ticket for 46 years, and had a spell of about 15 years in the 70s/80s when I went to every away game too. For the last 25 it has been home games only really. So it was a big life change to stop going when they moved the club to Northampton. It would be a 120 mile round trip as opposed to 50 at the Ricoh, but I wouldn't have gone had it been Walsall either.
The other issue is that I've become disillusioned with football generally and have little interest in the Premier League. So City was the only football interest at all and that's been taken away. So I haven't seen a single game anywhere this season, City or anyone else. The habit of attending has just about gone, and unless I can have a ST to watch them at the Ricoh next season I doubt I shall ever return now.
Of course I still want the team to do well - they are still the only team for me. But they deserted me, not the other way round. I listen on the radio if I'm around. The interest is definitely waning though and I'm sick and tired of the politics of it all. Like most City fans, I'm not boycotting, I'm just not going any more. And that is what the club need to worry about for the future. People have just moved on.
