Life After Cyrus? (4 Viewers)

The Question: “Will you start giving JordanClarke/Aaron Phillips game time at right-back with Cyrus Christie likely to leave in the summer and no chance of promotion?

Stephen Pressley: “We’ve had a lot to contend with but moving forward to next season I’m keen to see the team evolving and improving and one of the areas that we definitely have to improve is defensively.
“It may mean tweaking the way we play slightly but, also, the personnel in those areas. I think between now and the end of the season I have to look at certain things but, first and foremost, I have to make sure we also win games.

“I played Jordan at left-back on Tuesday night and I thought he was excellent in that position. He has played right back in 11 v 11 training over the last couple of weeks because I have to start looking towards next season. He’s a player who really excites me as a left or right back.

Is that a little indication that Cyrus won't be here next season and Jordan Clarke will be preferred to Right Back or am I reading it wrong?

Hopefully reading it right, Christie has been dreadful since coming back from injury. I've stated elsewhere, the last time we kept a cleansheet was before he came back.

I have to agree it doesn't sound like he wants to stay..

how can we play Jordan Clarke at right back when he has been earmarked to play on the left wing next season

We've offers christie a new deal, he won't sign it, so it's only right that Pressley starts looking at other options.

He's had a bad couple of months but is still a good player. Does seem his head maybe isn't in it any more.

More concerned about life after Murphy and Moussa to be honest.

Any of the lads that have played at RB this season have done themselves proud so not too concerned.

Think Jordan Clarke might have a crack in goal next season. I mean he's played in every other position this season, lol.

Christie is a terrible defender, cost us so many goals this season. Not bad going forwards, causes problems with his direct running.

Would rather see Clarke or Phillips there in all honesty.

can you blame him, what right minded player would want to stay at this circus of a club, I know for a fact Christie wants to stay at the club but with all the uncertainty surrounding it, he has to look elsewhere.

Does he? The other youngsters have extended their contracts. If it goes tits up and he's good enough, he'd easily find another club. Have the club ever failed to pay him his wages?

We're one of 92 English professional football clubs, circus or not, and one that seems to have a good young manager who's good at given young players a chance and developing them.

Yes he does, he could have left last summer and the window before but stood his ground, standing up to the SISU bullies, he will leave this summer; but on his terms.
